Located in Settle, this sweet cottage is a great spot for outdoorsy couples and small families travelling with a canine companion. This bustling Yorkshire town is surrounded by glorious countryside and backed by the dramatic Castleberg Crag, making it a brilliant base for adventure in both the southern Yorkshire Dales and the northern reaches of the Forest of Bowland. With dog-friendly pubs and independent shops within 300 metres, you’ll be right in the heart of things with easy access to rural beauty close by.
Inside, the house is warm, inviting and colourful. The living room has sofa space for relaxing, rug space for doggie doses and a cosy wood burner set within an exposed brick fireplace. A cheerful yellow feature wall provides plenty of character. In the kitchen/diner, which has outdoor access, you can sit down to sociable meals. On the first floor, you’ll find a stylish family bathroom and a snug double bedroom, while the top floor consists of a spacious family room with a king-size bed, lovely exposed beams and an extra child’s daybed – perfect for curling up and enjoying the views. Outside, the large garden is a real treat for dogs who love to potter and play. Wildflowers bring bursts of colour, and the raised decked area sets the scene for soaking up the surroundings while your pup lounges nearby. Steps connect the deck to the garden below – please note the low wall means doggies and children need supervising here. On-street parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
You’re spoilt for choice for adventures with your furry friend – start by taking a walk to Scaleber Force Waterfall (2 miles) or let your dog lead the way up Warrendale Knots (1.5 miles). The pretty trails at Winskill Stones and Victoria Cave are all within 3 miles. If you're venturing further afield, don’t miss the iconic Malham Cove (7 miles) or the lively market town of Skipton (16 miles).
