Adding to the cottage’s unique character, a steep staircase leads into a charming open wine cellar. After a long walkies, head upstairs to the super-king-size bedroom that’s brimming with homely touches and features the original 1774 pull-out bed hidden in the wall (no longer in use). Nestled among the fields and wildlife, soothe weary walking muscles in the hot tub as playful pups soak up some sunshine in the seating area. The driveway offers two parking spaces, which are shared with the owners.

Take the lead to the historic mining town of Swadlincote, 3.5 miles away, to sniff out some delightful local produce amongst its great selection of independent shops before finding plenty of sticks to fetch around the network of footpaths at the Swadlincote Woodlands & Park Area (3.5 miles), an 80-acre urban woodland park. The Rosliston Forestry Centre, 4 miles away, provides scenic trails, birdwatching opportunities, and cosy picnic spots to enjoy with your four-pawed pals.
