Bring two canine companions and sniff out adventures in the picturesque Peak District. Book this cosy cottage, ideal for couples or small families, and enjoy walks from your door, evenings in welcoming pubs, and an enclosed courtyard where you can sip a morning coffee or relax with a sundowner as your pupsters play safely.

This pretty bungalow is a cosy and welcoming retreat for four people and two furry friends. In the comfortable lounge/diner you’ll find a choice of seating (including a reclining sofa) and a wood-burner-effect electric fire, plus a Smart TV for you to stream your favourite shows. When it’s time to eat, the dining table in the corner is an inviting spot. In the kitchen, which has views of the garden, the cook will find everything they need to prepare delicious meals. At bedtime, bid your hounds goodnight and head to the two lovely, light-filled bedrooms, a double and a twin, which share a refreshing shower room. Happy hounds can frolic in the terraced courtyard garden, on three levels separated by steps. Here you’ll have outdoor seating for alfresco drinks or meals as you watch them play. There’s private parking for two cars, and the additional benefit of a garage where you can store bikes and outdoor gear.

The cottage is set on the outskirts of the popular town of Bakewell, where you’ll have a choice of places to shop, eat and drink. From here you can head out on delightful riverside walks, following the River Wye, or through Shacklow Wood, where there’s a 3-mile circular trail. Further afield, the White Peaks offer the opportunity for all-day, exhilarating walks which will tire everyone out and earn you a slice of tasty Bakewell Pudding when you return home.

The heating did not work as advised and the property was cold. Had to leave a day early due to being so cold. The quilt on the double bed is double in size but is not sufficient for two people in a cold house. Needs a king size quilt for comfort. The bathroom and front bedroom have black mould that needs addressing. My partner has COPD with bRead morereathing difficulties and the mould was a worry. Cottage is well stocked although smaller drinking glasses would be useful. Fridge is very small. The place just needs some TLC - tidy the gardens and make it more welcoming. Wouldnt stay here again even though the location is excellent. Hide
