With a whole acre of enclosed woodland to explore, your canine pals will be in hound-dog heaven at this top-notch Highland property. There’s even an outdoor pet shower, plus lots of doggie extras on offer. With room for six people in three bedrooms, it’s ideal for dogs (and owners) who love fresh air and beautiful countryside.

Your much-loved pets will be utterly spoiled at this gorgeous getaway, with dog beds, bowls, treats, towels and even shampoo provided. The detached house combines historic character with modern amenities, and when you step into the open-plan living space you’ll be greeted with comfortable seating in jewel-bright colours and a Smart TV for streaming your favourite programmes. There’s a dining table that takes advantage of the wonderful views, and a kitchen that includes everything a gourmet chef could require, including an American-style fridge/freezer. A cosy snug provides an alternative space for quiet reading or TV, and also boasts a wood burner. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility – the ideal space for storing pet food – and a pretty shower room. On the first floor – which has low, sloping ceilings that are typical of such an old house – you’ll find all three bedrooms, with dormer windows and ornamental fireplaces. Finally, there’s a classically styled family bathroom. Outside, humans can dine alfresco or can bask in the hot tub in the stone-walled courtyard, and furry friends will want to head into the delightful woodland for extensive walks.

This incredible getaway, surrounded by fields, hills and woodland, is set just 1 mile from the large town of Huntly and all its amenities. Visit the ruins of Huntly Castle (2.5 miles), or head to the National Trust’s Leith Hall estate, where there are walks and trails.

A fabulous retreat. The cottage was well-equipped, peaceful, and tidy. The owners were attentive and friendly while respecting our space. The fenced garden was perfect for our spaniel.

5 star cottage. Been to Gardeners Cottage twice this year and each time we have a great stay. One of the best hot tubs we've found in the 12 places we've stayed at this year. Garden is well kept and dog secure. Inside the whole cottage is clean and incredibly homely. I'm sure we will be returning next year.
