Only 1 mile down the road from this charming cottage is the pretty village of Lucker, where you can enjoy a meal at the local inn with your four-legged friend beside you. There are no steps in the cottage, perfect for tired legs after long days of walking, and there’s a homely wood burner which will warm your evenings. After countless games of fetch across the coast and countryside, your hound can put their paws up in front of the fire for a well-deserved rest.

At the heart of the cottage is the open-plan living area, a light and airy lounge/kitchen/diner. There’s plenty of space for a comfy bed or blanket in here, for hounds to retreat to once their bowl has been licked clean of dinner and they’re beginning to settle down for the evening. After your own meal at the breakfast-bar style wooden table, enjoy the glow of the fire over on the sofa. Scratch your top dog’s ears while you watch TV or a film, and in no time your dog will be stretched out and snoring, tired and happy from all the fun and fuss. Wake well-rested in the smart and stylish double bedroom and indulge in a re-energising soak in the shower room. If it’s a bright morning, take a hearty brunch and a bone for your pup into the enclosed patio garden. There are French doors in both the living area and the bedroom for ease. Outside you may even spot a red squirrel on the feeders.

Explore the Northumberland Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which will set tails wagging with its castles, ruins, and sandy beaches. Have a nose around the impressive ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle (12.5 miles) and sniff out the secrets of Bamburgh Castle (5 miles) with a visit to the dog-friendly castle grounds, Armstrong & Aviation Museum, Victorian Stables, and Tack Room Cafe.

Overall a pleasant stay although on a busy road with no pavement so if your taking your dog you'll need to drive to walk them safely. Cottage a little bit tired and would benefit from refresh and deep clean

Lovely little place to spend a week, you do have to drive to the beach and to take the dog for a walk. But everything you need to have a lovely week on the Northumberland coast is not too far away.

So, the location wasnt bad but is on the side of a very busy direct road to Bamburgh, no close dog walks without walking onto the road and then onto a bridle path on the opposite side. The premise was ok.. except - Uncomfortable bed, oven door wont stay open. Microwave timer inefficient. The place is a bit tired and in need of a redec. Be careRead moreful when first sitting down on the toilet as is uneven. The oven instructions are in the kitchen table drawer. Check cutlery and drinking utensils before using as prior guests may not have cleaned properly as was in our case... We visited in April and was a nice warm weekend, the premise has a lack of windows to leave open on a night, so i guess it would be quite warm, personally i wouldnt want to leave the kitchen or bathroom window open at night. Over all a nice little place but to be honest wouldnt revisit especially paying nearly 600 for 3 nights and half a day. Hide

View at the back was good. However this was not a good location to bring a dog. Road was very busy and footpath up the road was blocked off by brambles and barbed wire. Some elements of the cabin are in need of replacing as now are very worn.

The cottage we stayed in at bamburgh gate was a great base for the most wonderful of areas. There so much to see and do in this part of the UK. The cottage has wonderful views over fields. The cottage itself is clean and well equipped, although no washing machine if your staying longer than a week. It's lovely and warm - we only needed to put the bRead moreed room heater on once for a couple of hours one evening and it warmed the whole place. The cottage is nicely decorated and is value for money. Hide

This is a lovely little gem, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the rat run weve all come to normalise. It is open, airy, clean, and quiet and there is ample space for two people and two dogs. The south-facing views are lovely, but the cottage never feels too hot, even in the height of summer. Similarly, in winter, the place is warm and cosyRead more thanks to the log burner. Everywhere worth visiting is in driving distance, too. This was our second stay, and well be back again for sure. Hide

The cottage was fantastic with views from cottage 3 outstanding. It was a wonderful place to rlax and whatever you needed was there. My only concern if you had a dog the nearest public footpath was roughly 300 meters from the cottage and the road was quite well used. But a great place.
