Firstly, the cottage is in a great location, in a quiet spot but very close to Keswick and giving easy access to Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake, Whinlatter Forest and the western lakes. The view from the rear of the property is stunning. The cottage is generally well equipped and comfortable but there were aspects in respect of the way the cottagRead moree had been cleaned and left for us which were not satisfactory. This has been mentioned in a review before and so hasnt been properly addressed. Some things were reported to Holiday Cottages early on and they were very good in the way they resolved these. So, a lovely place to stay but there needs to be more attention to detail in preparing the cottage for the next visitors. Hide

Well, to start, what a view. Could have sat there all day staring out of the window! The cottage is very comfortable and cosy and the kitchen was SO well equipped. The dog loved it to and the garden was secure for him to be let out. Easy walks from the door and quick journey into town. Loved it. Already booked for next year.

Very comfortable beds and great location with fantastic views. Also the garden was nice and secure for our Labrador. Great walks from the house and only 5 mins drive to Keswick. Only thing is that I really think it is time for some new sofas as they are very old. Otherwise very nice.

The best thing about this house are the views across the valley and the outside terrace to sit on. The cleaning standards in the kitchen were disappointing. The bunk beds are suitable for primary aged children but not for teens in my opinion (our teens were longer than the bunk beds).

Beautiful view and lovely balcony. Enjoyed our week at Spout Close cottage very well equipped kitchen. Beds were very comfy but in need of new furniture in living area. The garden is enclosed for big dogs had to watch our two small dogs when out could do with gates either side of back garden.

It would be good to have a coffee table. A few more mugs would have been useful. The fencing round the garden needs to be checked as our dog got through a gap into the garden next door.

Warning! There is no assistance from holiday cottages out of hours. We arrived within the published times, but they had closed early that day. Key lock was jammed, we had no way of accessing the house and no way of contacting help. The cottage is in a beautiful location. We had a few issues with cleanliness.

Lovely place to stay, would recommend without reservation. Nestled on the outskirts of Keswick in a quiet hamlet but within a few minutes drive to the town centre. There are also lots of walks accessible directly from the property.

We had a little difficulty finding the cottage, we called the local help number and spoke to a gentleman that had been to the property and helped us locate it after going up and down the road a few times. The cottage itself was lovely, the views from the decking area out the back of the property was beautiful. What a gem. A beautiful cottage, stunning views, super comfy bed, tranquil, and in a desirable, chilled out location for views, walking and seeing Red Squirrels. We walked in Dodd Woods, straight up to Skiddaw from the back door, and walked to and from Keswick several times during our stay. We fell in love with GD Smiths slate memorial bench in MilRead morelbeck while soaking up sunsets on one of the best views in the area. We are already planning our next visit. Hide

This property was great for us. We wanted somewhere with an enclosed garden so we could let our dog out without worrying about gaps in hedges or busy roads nearby - so this place was perfect. The property is well appointed with a good kitchen area and a lounge with amazing views. The bedrooms are all well decorated and the bathroom nice enough. ParRead moreking is on the road but it's a very quiet road with laybys right outside the gate. We also enjoyed the location being very quiet and good for walks. Hide
