Stanley Ghyll Waterfall and Wast Water are both nearby (within 6 miles), providing miles of wonderful walks. The house was in an ideal location , it was warm and the bedrooms and bathrooms were satisfactory ( apart from the top bunk being inaccessible). However, we were worried that there only seemed to be one exit from the property ( through the kitchen) and in the event of a fire, escape would be difficult. Also, there is no proper cooker and no place tRead moreo dry clothes after a wet walk. The seating provision around the dining room table is not adequate and it was impossible for all of our family to sit together in the living room. The whole property seemed to be cluttered with random pieces of furniture and gloomy paintings whilst there was a lack of basic necessities such as toilet paper and washing up liquid . We would not stay here again although we really liked the outside space and being able to walk from the door. Hide

The cottage is perfectly located with stunning views and direct access to the excellent and varied walks that this part of the lake district offers. I took a party of 9 friends to the house and we had a great holiday. There is a huge amount of space, lots of very hot water, and a very well equipped kitchen. A proper farmhouse with very nice fittings and well equipped kitchen that made it feel much more like a home than rental property.

We loved the house, the grounds and the privacy - our four year old grandson wanted to stay there forever! The house is lovely, with comfy beds and it is in a fabulous position in the valley. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are really nice. One Aga did not get up to temperature but we switched on the second one, which worked well. The house was great for morning coffee in the sunshine, and there is plenty to do nearby.

In spite of a wet and misty week Hollin How is so cosy and warm the weather didn't matter. Plenty of room for 3 generations to choose their own space.
