On arriving at the property, we were overwhelmed by the beauty. As for the views, absolutely stunning. We found the location perfect for exploring Lake Windermere and so many local walks right on the doorstep. The Morning Room was light and airy, with more than enough space, which was just as well because there was myself, my son, my daughter wiRead moreth her partner, a 11 month old baby and a dog. Unfortunately we had to end our stay a day early due to a family emergency back home in Hampshire but it was a holiday that I will never forget Hide

Lovely to stay in this characterful and historic house, with its beautiful views over the surrounding countryside - and lots of bunny rabbits nibbling the lawns! Plenty to do nearby, whether by foot, bike or car, and so easy to drive onto the car ferry for access to the east side of Windermere. Overall a very pleasant week. Thank you to the hosts. The Morning Room at Sawrey Knotts in the Lake District was cozy, clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Although the location is somewhat remote, it is within walking distance of Beatrix Potter's cottage at Hill Top and surrounded by beautiful fields in a lovely pastoral setting. There is also easy access to the ferRead morery that connects Near and Far Sawrey with Windermere. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property in the Lake District. Hide

We loved sitting in the front window with our morning coffee watching the bunnies on the lawn and hearing the birds singing. So, relaxing and comfortable. And we found taking the ferry to Windermere very easy, which provided access to many more restaurants (we liked Windermere better than Bowness).

The apartment was lovely and very well equipped. The view was amazing and the living room bay window was perfect for watching the many birds flitting around. It was also a good vantage point to watch the fighter jets flying along Windermere. It was very quiet at night and convenient for local walks and many outings - Hilltop, Brantwood, Windermere,Read more Coniston etc. We enjoyed our welcome gift of coffee and biscuits and were lucky to have amazing sunshine every day of our visit in early April. The grounds & views were beautiful. The amount of cooking equipment given was great! The beds were comfy. It's a shame to have had to say about the cleanliness but I would rather you know as its an easy fix then it would have been 5 stars all round. Little bit of cleaning in the entrance hallway would also help. Overall a lovely place to stay!!
