Hang coats and leads in the hall and head into the spacious utility/laundry room, where you can leave dog bowls and beds, food and other canine paraphernalia. For the ultimate in relaxation, choose from either the cosy snug, with its wood burner and TV, or the lounge, where there’s a Smart TV and an open fire. This room leads through a wide archway into the formal dining area, seating eight for sociable meals, while in the kitchen there’s also a breakfast table for six. This charming room, furnished with hand-made timber cabinets and slate worktops, offers all mod cons for holiday cooking, with a dishwasher in the adjacent utility. When night falls and you’re ready for bed, settle your four-pawed friend and take the stairs to the first floor, where you’ll find a king-size and a twin bedroom, plus a family set-up which consists of a king-size bedroom leading through to a twin. The handsome family bathroom boasts a roll-top bath and walk-in shower. When you want to dine in the sunshine, take your food out to the patio while your hound plays on the sloping lawn. There’s off-road parking for two cars at the front of the house.

From your base in the charming village of Hayton you can explore the Northern Lake District, including the Georgian town of Cockermouth (9 miles) and Bassenthwaite Lake (14 miles). Discover the 5-mile beach at Allonby, just 3 miles away, dog friendly all year round.

Lovely area, quiet and it was lovely to hear the chickens on a morning (little one spent many mornings trying to cluck back)

We loved the house. 4 adults and 3 17year olds all enjoyed spending time at the house on our chilled days. The garden was loVely to sit in. House well equipped. The option to have formal and casual dining worked really well for us too. Be aware there are 2 Haytons with Carlisle in between- researched the wrong Hayton so we had a bit of a laugh withRead more that but didn't get to the meal we booked at the "other Hayton" Woud we visit the area again YES Would we stay at Becks Bottom again DEFINITELY.
