Strike out on exciting excursions along the shores of Derwentwater when you plan a group trip to this holiday home in which two dogs are also very welcome to stay. Also accommodating eight guests across three bedrooms, the two-storey cottage in Portinscale is set less than 1 mile from the picturesque lake. Head down to the marina to hire a boat on which your pups are also allowed to travel. Spend summer evenings back in the lawned garden, throwing a ball for your furry friends while supper sizzles on the BBQ.

Rub damp dogs down in the porch then head inside to take them through to the kitchen/diner. Pop the towels in the washer/dryer, feed your hungry hounds and pour yourself a glass of wine to drink by the French doors before you set to and make dinner. Find everything you need to prepare a hearty holiday meal with your own ingredients then dine inside at the table or out in the garden, with your furry friends close by. On chilly nights, light the wood burner in the lounge, find a film on TV and give furry ears a good stroke. Find you also have a shower room downstairs, while upstairs there are two king-size rooms, plus a bunk bedroom, with four full-size beds. Soak in the stylish bath in the family bathroom before turning in for the night. Have breakfast in the garden, with your happy hounds enjoying the fresh air. Find parking for two cars at the cottage.

Suggest embarking upon the 10-mile walk around Derwentwater, safe in the knowledge that your canine companions will relish the experience. Hike 3.5 miles to Catbells, with its astounding views. Rest weary paws on a lake cruise back to Nichol End, strolling just 0.5 miles to get home.

Cottage was much bigger than expected therefore fit the family well. Really good location for Derwentwater and Keswick. Excellent for our New Year holiday

A lovely cottage in an ideal location for touring around, with lots of good walks locally too. There is a huge field down a passage to the side of the cottage - a boon if you're visiting with large dogs as we were, since the garden is quite small. This is a lovely comfortable house ,wooden floors are a tad noisy but for cleaning they are ideal It is in a great spot,an easy 1/2 mile walk, no traffic,into Keswick. I would definitely stay there again

Manor Cottage was a good base for fell walking also an easy walk to Keswick. The cottage was clean, bright, well equipped and easy to keep clean. Ideal for our dogs with a secure garden, we had a great family holiday there. Thank you.

We all loved staying in Manor cottage. It was clean, comfortable, warm and very homely. The kitchen was well equipped and we had great fun playing cards around that gorgeous dining table after dinner. Cottage provided spacious, practical, and airy accommodation for our party of 5 adults and 3 children. Enclosed garden was ideal for children and our Golden Retriever (with regular visits from a pheasant and a partridge!) The property was at least as good as the photographs suggested. Perfect location with the Chalet cafe only 2 minutes walk away and serving great breakfasts

This is our 3rd visit to Manor Cottage, and once again, it didn't disapppoint. Thr location is fantastic - we only had to use the car once during our week. The garden was perfect for our dog - it was fully enclosed, so we knew he could be off lead without any worry of escaping. The cottage is so comfortable and very well equipped. The shower downstRead moreairs is amazing, and a hit with many of our party was the jet bath after a long walk. I would definitely recommend this cottage and we will be back. Hide
