Nestled in lawned gardens at Castlerigg, the inviting, four-bedroom cottage, just 1.5 miles from Keswick, is set against the most beautiful lake and mountain backdrop. Sleeping nine guests, as well as two contented canines, it has four bedrooms and is a paws-down winner when it comes to offering that perfect balance between proximity to a town and fantastic dog walks.
Open the front door, towel doggies down in the porch and wander through to the lounge, with its spectacular views. Let your perfect pets have a quiet doze in a corner after their busy day, while you stoke up the wood burner and find a film to watch on the smart TV or a DVD for later on. Head through to the kitchen to prepare food with the Lakeland delicacies you have shopped for; serve up at the table in the dining room then find a few quiet moments to yourself in the conservatory, with your happy hounds by your side. Pat your pals goodnight, then head up to one of three king-size bedrooms on the first floor, where the family bathroom is also located. A triple bedroom, with a beautiful, vaulted ceiling and three single beds, is on the second floor, together with another bathroom. Take pups out into the morning sunshine to stretch their furry legs while you gaze out at your surroundings. Have breakfast out here too on warm days. There’s parking for three cars at the cottage.
Walk approximately 1 mile to see the famous Castlerigg Stone Circle. Watch ears prick up when you embark upon all or some of the 10-mile walk around Derwentwater too, which begins less than 1 mile away. Or, take a dog-friendly cruise from Keswick. There is also a car charging point available suitable for charging vehicles overnight.
