Let the mutts take the lead on the numerous walks which surround the amazing Lake Windermere (3 miles) and Coniston Water (4.5 miles). Take to the water by hopping on one of the pleasure cruises that operate on the lakes - many of them let dogs travel for free. If trains are more your thing, then your four-legged companions are also welcome to travel on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway (10.5 miles), a steam locomotive complete with 1950s carriages.
