Eskdale offers a contrast of towering mountains and serene countryside that spills towards the sea, creating a magical landscape for you and your hound to explore. Leave no stick unfetched as you scamper through the ever-changing landscape, perhaps even venturing towards the coast 6.5 miles away to spend the day close to the sea. At the end of a busy day, this attractive property has ample room for your party of six to relax with your two waggy-tailed friends by your side.
A comfortable retreat awaits inside, welcoming you with a crackling open fire in the lounge and traditional Lakeland decor in every room. Snuggle up by the fire or head into the snug for a game of table football before dinner, gathering your group in the dining room when it is time to eat. Each of the three bedrooms is a retreat for the weary pawed, all sharing the generous bathroom with its bath and separate shower upstairs. Outside, the garden features an elevated terrace above the countryside accessed via stone steps for evening drinks, and in the daytime, you may spot a passing train. Off-road parking is provided for two cars, and there is a pub within 0.5 miles.
Although Eskdale is one of the only valleys in the Lake District without its own lake, the beautiful hilltop tarns and meandering River Esk have plenty to entertain your excitable pup. As well as endless walking opportunities, there’s an ancient mill to admire, art galleries, a Roman fort and numerous waterfalls, but the best way to soak up the marvellous views is via the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. For the bravest drivers, the route through Hard Knott Pass is simply spectacular and sure to raise an appetite that can be sated at one of the dog-friendly pubs nearby.
