Stroll around gorgeous Coniston Water (5 miles), or head to the spectacular Grasmere (9 miles), where you’ll find Dove Cottage - William Wordsworth’s former home, or grab some world-famous gingerbread from the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop. Visit the Beatrix Potter Gallery, less than 200 metres’ walk, before heading to one of the pubs for a spot of lunch.
