We stayed here last year and I commented that while the garden was fairly secure for dogs, the top end of it wasn't fully secure for english springer spaniels looking to escape. We were really impressed that something was done to make the garden springer spaniel proof!! The weather was mixed with some dry days and some very wet ones but the fire is absolutely great and there was a big stock of dried chopped wood and smokeless coals. Hide

Overall, we had a wonderful time in the cottage. It is close to many nice walks and activities around the Lakes plus shops nearby. The fireplace is very good and makes the place cosy and toasty. The garden is pretty with plenty of space for our dogs to run.

Lovely cottage and nice to have a lovely garden to relax, in the especially with a dog. Lots of lovely walks from the cottage, the first day we went up Latterbarrow and down into Hawkshead before walking back at a lower level. Despite being nice and quiet, easy to get to Ambleside by car.

Lovely cottage with gorgeous sunny garden in a great peaceful location. Walk to Wray, Hawkshead, to the lake and to Ambleside right out the front door. Recommend Nomad pizzas at Low Wray Campsite!

Had an enjoyable week in Manor House Cottage, High Wray. Ideal area for burning off the energy of our English springer spaniel, despite quite a bit of forestry tree felling going on. One suggestion would be to make the far end of the garden more secure for dogs with some fence wire. Spaniels are always looking for ways to "escape"!!
