Property code: OC-CN119

Soak up the incredible views towards the beach and old lime kilns from the moment you wake at this charming cottage, which you will find located in the pretty fishing village of Beadnell. Sleeping six across three spacious bedrooms, the three-storey property has space for the whole family — four-legged members included. It’s the perfect base for exploring Northumberland’s picturesque coast and country, with coastal paths, castles and gardens waiting to be explored.

Step into your delightful home-from-home and the light and airy lounge/diner, a welcome space to relax. The homely room has ample comfortable seating for everyone to unwind together in front of the TV at the end of a busy day. On cold nights, fire up the wood burner and turn the room into a cosy haven — Fido and Rover will love snoozing beside it. Cook up a storm in the kitchen or grab some local fish and chips for a real taste of coastal living. After waking in one of the first-floor bedrooms, where the master room boasts that breathtaking view, head up to the second floor and savour your morning coffee in the additional open-plan lounge. Here, a large window offers panoramic views of the coastline and Beadnell Bay. In warmer months, enjoy your caffeine fix alfresco in the small walled patio to the front of the property.

The hounds will love frolicking in the gentle waters of Beadnell’s stunning horseshoe-shaped beach, which lies on the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From here, enjoy a sandy walk 3 miles south to Low Newton-by-the-Sea, where you’ll find a popular gastropub serving a range of dog beers! The famous castles of Alnwick (14 miles) and Bamburgh (5.5 miles) offer even more opportunity for walkies, with picturesque routes around the grounds and gardens.

Absolutely stunning location, beautiful views from the main bedroom and loft space, very relaxing even in the rain. Great location for walking or if the weather allows, days on the beach. Cottage is very well equipped, beds comfortable and showers very good. We had no complaints at all. Beadnell is very small with x1 village shop so bring essentiRead moreals, there is also a coop in Seahouses. Lovely welcome box of biscuits and cake, washing up liquid and x3 dishwasher tablets, much appreciated. Great outside shower tap for the dog and feet. We would definitely return. Hide

Firstly, the good: the view from the house is spectacular on the first and second floors - stunning views of Beadnell beach and harbour and the lime kilns; the location is excellent - very close proximity to the beach; 20 or so minutes walk into the middle of Beadnell; beautifully quiet; the parking is really easy and convenient - so often, holiRead moreday cottages declare they have parking and then you find you need to have a tiny car and professional driving skills to get in and out of it - this parking space is right outside and very easy to access; it's warm. Now the not so good: the whole house needs a really thorough, really deep clean (this has been mentioned by a previous reviewer) - it's grubby, some of the upholstery is grubby, and the downstairs smells of dogs. I understand, of course, that dogs are allowed in the downstairs of the property, and I really like dogs, but I've never been to a holiday house that allows dogs that really smells of dogs. We bought a scented candle and got used to the odour over the time we were there, but if other places can eliminate the odours, I'm sure the same can happen at this property. When we arrived, there was a used teaspoon in the cutlery drawer; on discovering this, we felt we had to load the dishwasher with all the cutlery and all the crockery and glasses we would be using before using anything - it's a bit grim at the start of a holiday. In summary, therefore, if your over-riding priority is view and location, I would recommend Levante Cottage, but it's not for the fastidious. If you're content with that, you'll have a lovely holiday. Hide

The cottage itself is lovely. It is in a stunning location a minutes walk from Beadnell's sandy beach. It is warm and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The first floor bedrooms and bathrooms are definitely not spacious but they were comfortable and there was plenty of space to store everything. The highlight of the house (along with its beRead moreach proximity) is the cosy room on the top floor with sea views in two directions that stretch to the Cheviot Hills in the distance. It was perfect for sea gazing, reading and playing games. Others complained about the wifi and tv reception however we found these were fine; the main TV channels worked and we could log into our own Netflix account. Our main complaint was that the cottage needed a thorough, deep clean. There was dog hair from a previous visitor's dog on the carpets (and sofa), dirty food marks on the sofas and the cord was broken in the fireplace (something that should have been noted when the fire was cleaned between visitors). We reported all this to the agency (who offered to sort all these things for us during our visit ) and hopefully it has now been thoroughly cleaned! Hide

Such a lovely time in Beadnell staying at the cottage and exploring the village. The weather was 'challenging' so having the upstairs lounge space meant the holiday continued in the high winds and we had plenty of space, albeit upstairs not too practical for older parties & dog, and it is worth noting downstairs is very enclosed outside (high wallRead mores) with no outlook. Managed comfortably to park both a campervan and car. Beds very comfortable. Cottage lovely and warm. Only real downside is, as others have noted, Wifi and tv are hit and miss, so plan accodingly. Plenty of books to snuggle up with! Hide

We feel this property isn't advertised accurately. Signs in the property state that dogs are not allowed upstairs. This information isn't included in the property details. We have no issue with owners setting rules for their property but dogs not being allowed upstairs made this property unsuitable for us and we would not have booked. The people wRead moreho stayed before us left a note to say the tv didn't work during their stay. We had a poor signal the first evening and that was about it for a 4 night stay. Internet and wifi worked throughout but not enough for the tv which has no other connection. Holiday Cottages's response was to blame wider disruption due to severe weather which was simply untrue and internet is for leisure only. A property advertised as having a tv should have a tv that works. The upstairs space in this property is very tight. All things that may not be a problem and clearly the location is brilliant but they weren't shared in the property information which they should be so people can make an informed decision to book.
