Let your pups take the lead with walks from the door of this superlative cottage, set within beautiful countryside and close to many of the Lake District’s most appealing attractions. As you relax in the hot tub, enjoy the outdoor games room or dine on the patio, your hounds can roam around the spacious, safely enclosed garden.
This delightful country getaway has much to offer humans young and old as well as canine companions. Store pet food and set down bowls in the handy utility before heading into the sleek kitchen/diner and cooking up a storm – there’s a range cooker, microwave and air fryer to help, plus that essential coffee machine. Dining is at a breakfast bar for six, on high stools. For ultimate relaxation, head into the bright and spacious lounge, where reclining sofas await, the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a movie marathon as your pups snooze on the floor. Completing the ground floor is a handy shower room. Upstairs, there are two king-size bedrooms, one with a TV and an en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom, and another shower room. The outside space offers endless delights, whether basking in the covered hot tub, playing darts or table football in the games barn or serving meals al fresco on the patio. Children will love their little play park, and there’s parking for four cars.
Explore the Georgian market town of Cockermouth, where you’ll find dog-friendly cafes and pubs, as well as independent shops and some excellent walks: from Wordsworth House there’s an 8-mile circular ramble with lovely views of the fells. Head to Maryport, 11.5 miles, for a dog-friendly beach, or Keswick, 12.5 miles, where you can take a boat trip on the lake (dogs welcome, free of charge).
