Dish up their dinner in the kitchen area, prepare something tasty for the rest of your party and whiz any damp doggy towels through the washer/dryer. Settle on the sofas to watch TV while the pups doze quietly then climb a few stairs up to the family bathroom and more up to the two double bedrooms, one of which has a four-poster bed. Have your first cup of tea of the day out on your private, covered patio or throw a ball for your chums on the lawn. You also have parking for two cars and a secure space for storing bicycles.
Lace up your boots, call your happy hounds and follow the 1-mile trail to Little Mell Fell, with its enchanting scenery. Wander down to the lake instead to pick up the 20-mile Ullswater Way. This goes all the way around the lake, but your four-legged friends might appreciate boarding a dog-friendly steamer at one of the jetties along the way, to complete a stage or two by the water instead, while they put their paws up to take in the incredible scenery.
