Pack a mixed group of adventurers and your best canine companions for a holiday in Cockermouth. This townhouse is surrounded by lovely spots to dine, and you’re only a short journey from the delights of the Lake District and the Cumbrian coast.

This property is set over three levels. As you enter, you’ll find the social spaces on the ground floor. There’s a kitchen/diner with a farmhouse table, so everyone can eat together. The kitchen is well-equipped so you have everything you need for delicious meals. Continue to the lounge, a comfortable and warming place with a statement wall and a wood burner. It’s a great spot to relax, play games and chat. Head to the first floor via steep, spiral, cottage-style stairs for three bedrooms. They’re all doubles, and one comes with an en-suite shower room. There’s also a family bathroom with a deep bath for long soaks. The vaulted ceiling slopes low in some parts, so it would be good for children – and grown-ups should watch their heads! You’ll have a rear patio garden, enclosed by a high wall, where your dogs can sniff around. On sunny afternoons, why not fire up the BBQ and enjoy a spot of al fresco dining at the picnic table?

When you stay here, you’ll have all the conveniences of the town, including shops and local pubs, many of which welcome dogs. There are lots of walks to various natural features around the Lake District, including Grisedale Pike (11 miles), and Holme Force Waterfall (8 miles). Treat your salty sea dogs to a splash around with a visit to Parton Beach (12 miles), a quiet and pebbly spot.

  • 4 bedrooms – 3 doubles and 1 twin (please note that the lounge and dining seating is for a max. of 6 guests)
  • 2 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC, and 1 en-suite shower room with shower and WC
  • Rangemaster cooker, integrated fridge and separate freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and L'Or coffee pod machine
  • Wood burner – initial supply of fuel provided
  • Smart TV in lounge
  • Enclosed yard with outdoor seating
  • BBQ available to use
  • Private parking for 1 car, additional parking available in the nearby car parks
  • Shops, pubs and restaurants less than 1 mile
  • Please note, this cottage features steep, spiral stairs with rope bannisters
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 4 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

Beautiful cottage, we were a party of 4 friends so had a room each. The description of the stairs was spot on and we were all fine. Everything was just perfect, the little touches like coffee pods, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets was great as was the dog bowls in the cupboard. We will definitely be booking for next year. Thank you

Charming 18th century cottage, with steep spiral stairs, and steps in places you might not expect, all part of its long history. Absolute ideal location in the north of the Lakes.

The images on the website were very misleading. The house was nowhere near as spacious as it looked and the decor was old, tired and tatty. The house was very cold and draughty and we woke up to ice on the inside of the windows on one cold morning. Seating in the kitchen and lounge is just about adequate for 5 people but no more. Back yard lookRead moreed neglected and untidy- certainly not somewhere it would be a pleasure to sit in summer. Not a luxurious stay at all. Perfectly placed for centre of Cockermouth and travel around the further region but would not stay again or recommend. Hide

The cottage was Ok, but it smelt very damp suggest this was coming from the cellar. Other observations the information was lacking a little ie heating controls etc. , it needed a little TLC generally ie. toilet seat in ensuite dropping off , paint work not great. some basic items. missing in our view no spare toilet paper , no matches for lighting Read morefire. Would have been a nice touch if small milk was supplied . better departure and arrival times earlier and later .lack of information Hide

Wonderful cosy cottage with brilliant log burner and powerful hot showers!
