Situated on the western side of the Lake District National Park in the village of Eskdale Green, this well-presented two-storey apartment is perfect for families and their four-legged friends. Surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of the Eskdale Valley, you can immerse yourselves in the rural tranquillity, soak up the picturesque views and enjoy long walks from your doorstep. Less crowded than other areas, Eskdale is equally as beautiful. It is an ideal base from which to explore England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike, which is less than 10 miles from the property. The village has a few pubs to choose from.

A charming blend of original features and contemporary décor, this apartment is light and airy throughout with plenty of space for relaxing in comfort. Downstairs, there’s a welcoming lounge with a wood burner for curling up in front of, and stunning fell views from the bay window. Next door, the modern kitchen/diner has everything you’ll need to cook up some treats. Completing the accommodation on this floor, there’s a bright and airy master suite and a family bathroom, whilst the second bedroom is on the first floor. Outside, a shared garden is the perfect place for a run-around or a spot of al fresco dining.

Stretching from Gosforth on the west coast of Cumbria to the foot of Hard Knott Pass, the valley of Eskdale offers stunning walks amongst unbridled scenery. For something challenging, head over the fells towards Scafell Pike, or for something more leisurely, follow the River Esk through the woods or take a stroll around Giggle Alley forest. Nearby Stanley Ghyll Waterfall, Wast Water and Hardknott Roman Fort also provide a lovely setting for those much-needed walkies. Or, why not jump on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway to see the landscape from a different perspective?

We had an excellent stay and met the property owners who where very welcoming. The cottage is in a great location, and if you don't mind a walk, there's a couple of nice pubs nearby. The local shop had the basics we needed during our stay. Highly recommended, and we will hopefully be back before the year is out.
