Esk View is superbly situated. We were able to walk from the door and do a different walk every day. The house was comfortable and spacious for our party of 12 adults. The kitchen was small but well equipped and the dining room was impressive. Overall a memorable holiday and wed all love to come back!

We were a large group of friends staying over the New Year period and had a really great stay at Esk View. Plenty of room for all of us and all the bedrooms were of a good size and very comfortable. The kitchen is on the small size for a large group but well equipped and we made it work. Lovely to be able to seat everyone around one large beautiRead moreful table too. The location was ideal for what we wanted - lots of walks and cycle rides in amazing scenery straight from the house and walkable to two excellent pubs serving real ales and fab food. And to top it all off, the weather was amazing. Would definitely recommend a stay at Esk View. Hide

The most amazing if a bit remote location. Only accessible by very narrow roads and we arrived having come across a picturesque hill and valley. Great accommodation for our large extended family. Kitchen small for the number of people and not enough seats to sit outside. But what a view. We loved the two pubs being close by and had early evening drRead moreinks most evenings. We were amazingly lucky with weather swimming in river close to house and in the sea at Seascale. Hide

Am idyllic setting for our family with 8 children aged between 9 and 11. We spent a lot of time in the beck with suitable places for swimming and using a rubber dinghy and lots of fun also had on the stepping stones. Lots of countryside walks and varied scenery, Not recommended for less agile people or timid drivers. Shops not in easy reach but TesRead moreco delivered goods for us. Narrow gage railway just a walk away going out to the coast. Would recommend a visit to Muncaster Castle too. Hide

The location of Eskdale View is excellent, and we had a lovely family holiday. There is so much that you can do locally as well as within a short drive. The house is really comfortable too, though in need of some refurbishment.

Great location and good house for extended family holiday. It feels quite tired and a bit shabby, and we felt with a really good deep clean, some replacement furniture and a bit of extra lighting in strategic areas it would be a five star rather than 4 star property.
