This single-storey cottage has a fantastic location, on the fringe of the Lake District National Park and within 12 miles of the North Pennines and Yorkshire Dales. There are some excellent dog walks nearby, including around Lowther Estate (2 miles). The property sleeps six guests and two canine buddies, making it perfect for large families and groups of friends. With a spacious kitchen/diner, the cottage is ideal for entertaining, and the large, enclosed lawn makes a great play area for children and woofers.

The holiday home is decorated in neutral tones, with gentle accents of colour and chic accessories bringing a sense of style to each area. The lounge is a relaxed space with comfortable sofas and a swivel chair to unwind on to watch the Smart TV/DVD, whilst the pups toast their toes in front of the cosy wood burner. The sociable kitchen/diner has a breakfast bar to perch on whilst the dinner is being prepared and a large dining table to seat everyone. With hard floors and direct access to the garden, this is a great place for the hounds to make themselves at home. The property has three bedrooms – a king-size, double, and twin. In summer, enjoy meals outdoors on the patio, whilst the children and four-legged beasts burn off steam on the lawn.

Journey to the picturesque village of Pooley Bridge (6 miles) to board one of the iconic Ullswater Steamers. The paw-friendly attraction takes you across the water to admire the breathtaking scenery and you can hop on and off to join the Ullswater Way to visit stunning beauty spots such as Aira Force Waterfall. Lowther Castle and Gardens makes a great doggy day out. Sniff your way around the impressive gardens and dramatic castle ruins, before grabbing a bite to eat from the dog-friendly cafe.

We stayed here xmas week, when we arrived the home was spotlessly clean and smelt lovely and fresh. Nice welcome hamper for us adults and even included the doggies which was a lovely touch. House was decorated all round for xmas which was nice. It has everything you need in it and more. Plenty of games to keep you occupied (our favourite was jenga)

Wonderful week at The Snugalow (2 adults and 1 dog). Very comfortable and well-equipped home from home and a ideal location for exploring the Eden Valley and Lake District. Perfect dog-friendly property with a completely enclosed, fenced garden to the rear of the property and access to off-road paths for dog walking very close by.

Perfect in every way. Very convenient location for touring, as well as the Lake District, there is the Eden Valley, South West Scotland and the Scottish Borders. In addition, you can use the trains from Penrith station which is 5 miles away, for the Cumbrian Coast Line, Edinburgh and Galsgow; if so, park in the municipal car park in Bluebell Lane, Read morealthough it does not, currently, take cards. The Snugalow was immaculately presented, tastefully decorated and fully quipped with everything we needed. The bungalow has such a lovely cosy, homely feel - There isnt really anything to criticise! Very comfortable and great facilities. Nearby dog walks are marvellous and the proximity to Penrith about right. We sat in the back garden nearly every day till the sun went down and enjoyed a few drinks on the patio. The facilities are good and the welcome pack much appreciated.

Beautiful & clean property, in a fantastic location. As a former Penrith lad this place is ideal base for visiting my family. Will definitely be stopping here again but for longer. Definitely recommend the Lowcastke Pub for Sunday lunch, with lots of lovely walk in and around Lowther.

This holiday home is spotless, the owners thought of everything to make our stay amazing, a wonderful wicker hamper, included teabags, marmalade, apple juice, jam, choc tiffin and gingerbread, the fridge held the most amazing roll of butter and some milk, the bread in the breadbin, the welcome card too was so thoughtful. We have stayed in numerous self catering cottages over the last 20 years (in the UK and overseas) and this was one of the best! Some really great touches like the welcome pack and autumn decorations. We had the most wonderful stay at the Snugalow. The owners have really thought of everything, it was lovely accommodation - clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The pool table/table tennis was a big hit with our son! A nice big enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog. The location was great, pretty views and lots to do locally, Lowther CastlRead moree is just 5 minutes by car. We could reach most areas of the lakes we wanted to visit in under an hour too. A lovely holiday home, perfectly located to discover Cumbria and the lakes. Very comfortable with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The garden was completely secure and ideal for our two small dogs. Lovely welcome pack too. We would definitely recommend this property.
