Enjoying a secluded location half a mile from Wast Water, this delightful cottage has been stylishly updated to make a cosy and welcoming holiday home for couples and smaller families eager to explore the western portion of the Lake District. Offering tastefully decorated and beautifully furnished accommodation for four guests, the bright, cheery hideaway also has room for an energetic pup keen to help you discover the mountains, villages and countryside surrounding England's deepest lake. Part of a small group of properties surrounded by stunning scenery, this light and spacious property is a fantastic base for climbers, hikers, walkers and nature spotters.
The pretty garden path leads to the cottage, with a hallway porch providing an ideal spot for leaving coats and cleaning muddy paws before heading through into the inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The relaxing lounge has a TV, comfortable seating and views towards the Wasdale Screes. There's a charming dining area in one corner, and a stylishly organised kitchen opposite. Upstairs there's a choice of two snug bedrooms: a lovely double with wonderful vistas towards the fells, and a sweet twin room with a picturesque view. The accommodation is rounded off with a refreshing bathroom. Outside, the garden is shared with neighbouring cottages, and off-road parking is available for two cars.
The dramatic Wasdale Valley offers miles of tranquil walks and more rugged hikes for you and your four-pawed companion to attempt. The shores of the serene Wast Water are just over half a mile away, with the peak of Scafell Pike (5.5 miles) looming over the landscape. There are some friendly villages nearby including Wasdale Head (4 miles) and Nether Wasdale (2.5 miles), and dogs are welcome in the gardens at Muncaster Castle (10 miles) and on the trains of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway (9.5 miles).
