Lose yourselves in open views across the Cumbrian countryside while your delighted dog races across the lawn at this Broughton Moor bungalow. Situated 2.5 miles from Maryport and 5 miles from the Lake District National Park, the two-bedroom retreat sleeps four guests and welcomes pups with open paws. Its large garden and its proximity to the coast and picturesque country make it a paws-down winner for small families or couples wishing to bring a pet.

Make your way inside to find welcoming, single-storey accommodation to suit hounds and their humans. Follow your pup through to the kitchen/diner to feed him a feast and top up his water bowl. This modern space is also well equipped with all the appliances and accessories you need to help you cater for the rest of your party. Dine at the table while your contented canine sleeps off his own dinner, then while away your evenings together through in the lounge. Find a good film on the Smart TV or open the doors to the garden so your chum can wander outside and you can better enjoy the magnificent views. Stroke soft ears before wandering off to lay your head in either the double bedroom or the twin. The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there is also a family bathroom for long, hot bubble baths. Open the garden doors in the morning so your paw-some pal can bound outside. Dine out here on summer evenings and play fetch on the lawn.

Venture into Maryport to stroll out along the beach, where there are no dog restrictions at any time of year. Dine out in a dog-friendly pub in Cockermouth, 5 miles from your base. Head 18.5 miles to vibrant Keswick to set out on a long walk along the shores of Derwentwater.

Fabulous find in the Lakes to use as a base with the best of both worlds as close to the coast and close to some of the main Lakes and Keswick. The property itself was really clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The garden and back of the property overlooked open fields and was perfect for walking our dog. It was greaRead moret for relaxing in at night as it was South facing so you get the sun until very late and it was a very quiet location. Would definitely recommend and would return again next time we visit this part of the world. Hide

We found this cottage spot on for exploring western Cumbria. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen well-equipped, the garden large with access straight to the adjoining fields for dog walks, the neighbours are friendly and the area is quiet. It's about a 6-7 minute drive to explore Maryport, where there's a handy Lidl. About 12 minutes drive to exRead moreplore Cockermouth, with a Lidl, Aldi or Sainsbury's. If planning to park in Cockermouth or Maryport it's worth taking a parking disc, as both towns have car parking where you display a disc to park free for a few hours, just look it up online. You can drive to Keswick in about half an hour. Although the property isn't advertised as having disabled access, I think it worth a mention that there is sloped access up to the front door and level access round the side to the back garden. It had everything we needed for a lovely holiday and we're hoping to go back again soon. Hide

This is a lovely, well-equipped bungalow which offers a great base for exploring the area. The garden opens out onto a large field so its perfect for dog owners.

Comfortable and well kept cottage with lovely views over the fields. Great for dog owners as the garden is totally enclosed, mainly lawned and the lounge has double doors that opens out directly into the garden. Good location for exploring the coast and the lake district, Keswick is only a 30 min drive. Would recommend!!

Lovely bungalow, light airy and spacious. Fantastic views, great fenced in garden for dogs and has a gate giving access to walk your dog in the field behind. Great location for access to the coast and the Lake District. We had a wonderful week there and would happily stay there again. The neighbours in the bungalow next door are so lovely too. Lovely little bungalow on small estate, centrally situated for the NW Lakes. Sunny garden at the rear with open fields where we were able to walk the dog, beware at times of cows & sheep. Sadly uncomfortable bed, couch & chair very low making it difficult to get up from. Lovely comfortable, clean well equiped bungalow. Beautiful garden with views over open fields, though sheep appeared on the last day of holiday and luckily stayed out of view or our dogs would of barked at them. Great base for exploring lakes.

We did enjoy our stay here, but if you're expecting a nice cosy cottage this certainly isn't one, it's a little bungalow on a housing Estate. It was very clean and quite well equipped. Our dogs loved the garden and the fields at the back of it for a run round.
