If being able to take your beloved pup is at the top of your holiday criteria, then this property definitely ticks that box. It’s a light and airy house sleeping five family or friends in three bedrooms located in pretty Robin Hood’s Bay. As you’ll know, it’s brilliant to be right by the seaside when on holiday and so both you and your dog will adore the fact you’re just over 300 metres from the beach, making walks a pure pleasure. Take the lead and head out walking along the coast or enjoy day trips to cute villages like Whitby.

This adorable stone-built house covers three floors with original features, some quirky decorative touches, modern comfort and sea glimpses. Have dog towels to hand as you step straight into the wonderful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner on the ground floor. This space works brilliantly, with a contemporary and well-equipped kitchen, dining area with a table easily seating six and an inviting lounge with comfortable seating, TV and wood burner-effect gas fire. This whole space has lovely features like the painted beamed ceiling and ornamental fire in the dining area. There’s another snug downstairs too if you need time to catch up on reading your book. Sleeping quarters comprise two king-size rooms and one twin bedroom. The quaintness continues outside, with a lovely little garden oasis complete with furniture for al fresco free time.

Get to know this charming fishing village as you’re only 300 metres from the heart of the action. There’s lots of serious walking going on around these parts, so explore the coastal path or Alfred Wainwright’s Coast-to-Coast path. Or just play ball with your best buddy (four legs and two) on the beach. For a day trip, check out the ruined abbey and its 199 steps plus the other sights of vibrant Whitby (6 miles).

Really well positioned for the center of the village, beach and coastal walks. Having a parking permit makes loading and unloading from the nearby carpark really easy which is a real boon in this part of the village. The cottage was comfy and well equipped. We had a lovely time at Hillside. The only negative for me is the carpets downstairs with having a dog. But it was exactly what we expected.
