The cottage itself was fine for 2 adults - really great bathroom and comfortable bed and sofa area, and generally well equipped. Good lighting options too. A good location for Sandsend itself but there really isn't much of a view out of the window as it's up a side street with not much space between it and the the properties opposite.

In need of a clean, dust and tlc. Welcome pack poor - bring your own milk, water etc. as they are not provided. Bunks only suitable for small children, not adults! Great location. Beware of steps leading to cottage, very old and uneven but there is a rail.

Lovely clean, tidy and well located cottage. No outside area, other than the narrow passage through to other properties, but not really a problem as located across the road from the beach.

Nice little cottage in a great position in Sandsend. Not too far to walk to the pub, cafe etc and the bus stop is nearby to go to Whitby. Parking wasn't an issue for us but we did visit in March and it was quiet. The cottage would be tight for 4 adults.

Clean the cottage! I have pictures to show the low standards of cleaning. Also had to call a plumber to fix the boiler as it was 9 degrees in the cottage fast turnaround of the issue. Also no book to explain how to use things ie the broadband or thermostat

We chose this cottage in the hope that it would be quiet for our dog, which it mostly was. There is literally a brick wall in front of the main bedroom and living room which makes the place very dark. We had hoped for the advertised patio to use as recompense but this seemed to be out of action with the outdoor table and chairs being thoughtfully sRead morequeezed in next to some bins instead. We found the kitchen well equipped and the main bed was large and comfortable. The bunk room is very small. Hide

It is ok for a couple with a dog but the 2nd bedroom is only of use for young children as it is very small. My 9 year old granddaughter could not fit in the top bunk as too close to ceiling. We have stayed in better in Whitby and Sandsend. Not good value for money.

Sandsend is a great place to stay if you want to stay out of Whitby. The cottage is up two sets of steps which are quite worn due to the thousands of feet over the centuries. This could be a problem with people that are infirm on their feet. However, there is a handrail. It is also up a narrow alley (as these type of cottages in the area tend to beRead more). As a consequence the interior is quite dark, even on the brightest of days. We also found the interior needed a total renovation/decoration. Hide
