Lovely contemporary layout, quiet location, great base for exploring the area. The village has a small selection of dining options and pubs with a village shop, post office and a few gift shops. The walk into the centre of the village with access to the beach and ferry is about 30 mins.

Hygge House was a lovely place to stay for new year. Its in a great location and Dan the owner was so kind and helpful throughout our stay. Letting us walk through the garden to enable a walk to Shaldon along the estuary was fab, as was the prosecco and cream tea that we were greeted with when we arrived. We have stayed in Shaldon previously, but HRead moreygge House enabled us to venture to other neighbouring areas that we hadn't visited before. So much so that we viewed some properties whilst there, as we hope at some point soon to be able to move permanently to the area. Hide

Warm and clean accommodation with all requirements provided. We found it ideal for the two of us; four adults would find it more of a squeeze.

The Hygge House is a lovely comfortable place which had nearly everything we needed. It's in a peaceful location and we were able to walk through the owner's garden to reach the river, which was much appreciated. Also appreciated was the very welcoming cream tea and Prosecco!

A very comfortable property within easy reach of the village. A most helpful and friendly host. The cream tea welcome pack was greatly appreciated. The comfy beds, and a very spacious lounge were a welcome retreat at the end of a day exploring the local area.

The cottage was great. ( Could have had a waste bin in the bathrooms. We had to improvise with a few dustbin bags for disposal of tissues / sanitary items etc).
