Property code: OC-92240

Take a family holiday in the beautiful Lake District. This log cabin is super cosy and can accommodate a small family and their faithful four-legged companion. You’ll be staying in a larger holiday complex with some other lodges, and a few shared luxuries including a swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna.

Approach the property and note the gorgeous wooden exterior, which appears like something from a children’s story. When you get inside, you’ll find an open-plan kitchen, lounge and diner. It’s a friendly and social space where you can spend quality time together. Through the patio doors, you’ll have great views of the forest and plenty of natural light. There are two bedrooms, a double and a bunk bedroom. Both are comfortable and perfect for getting a good rest before a busy day. Finally, there’s a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. This lodge comes with a decking area, secured by a wooden fence, where you can relax and enjoy the sounds of nature, or eat your meals on the table provided. The extended facilities are in a large barn, and some are only available in certain seasons. There’s a shared laundry area, an indoor pool, a hot tub, a jacuzzi and a sauna.

You’ll be in a fairly remote area, so if you need supplies or fancy a hearty meal in a dog-friendly pub, try Ambleside (5 miles). There are some wonderful historic spots around, such as Wray Castle (4.5 miles) which is dog friendly, with a cafe, nice grounds and activities for children, and National Trust’s Allan Bank and Grasmere (6.5 miles), a 19th-century villa with a cafe and garden, also dog-friendly. Then there are the nature spots, such as Skelwith Force, 0.5 miles, and Cathedral Cave, 3 miles.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 bunk bedroom (Bunk suitable for children/teenagers)
  • 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC
  • Electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge and freezer
  • Shared utility room on-site with washing machine and tumble dryer (charges apply)

The location is perfect with easy access to everywhere within the national park. The cottage was clean and well maintained but we found the bed very uncomfortable and the lack of storage space for our two week stay a problem. Any potential holiday makers should be aware that access to the lodge would be very problematic for any elderly or disabled Read moreguests. We were very much looking forward to enjoying the pool area but after days out it was closed by the time we got back with a 6.30 closing. Hide

Very comfortable lodge in a great location. Well equipped, cosy and warm. There are a number of good walks/hikes that can be commenced from the lodge - which is convenient if you dont want to drive everywhere. The pool/jacuzzi were welcomed after long hikes! Nice welcoming touches such as biscuits/chocolate and coffee! Will be booking again.
