Property code: OC-89756

We know your dogs count as family, so it’s great that up to two pooches can share your holiday at this cute North Norfolk cottage with vernacular flint walls. Located in the village of Syderstone, it makes the perfect jumping-off point for exploring the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stately homes and grounds plus other tranquil inland villages either as a family or group of friends.

The interiors of this end-of-terrace traditional cottage have a quaint and cosy feel but the finish is of a very high standard, with all mod cons and sleek lines. Do be mindful, however, that the front door comes straight into the living area, so have towels and dog beds to hand for any potentially mucky or damp pups! The inviting lounge has comfortable sofas, an ornamental fireplace and practical wood floors. Self-catering is no problem in the well-equipped modern fitted kitchen. Upstairs, a king-size, twin and single bedroom offer great versatility – they all provide calming spaces for a great night’s sleep. An enclosed rear garden has furniture for those sundowners under big East Anglian skies while canine chums dream of rabbits.

The market town of Fakenham is 7 miles away for stocking up on supplies. But, if you love nothing better than watching your dogs go mutts on the beach, pack your bucket and spade. There’s sand as far as the eye can sea at Brancaster (10 miles), also famous for mussels, perennial family favourite Hunstanton (13 miles), Holkham (10.5 miles) and Wells-next-the-sea (9.5 miles). Do check for seasonal dog restrictions, however. The royal Sandringham Estate is within 11 miles, while Holkham Estate is 10.5 miles. Well-behaved dogs on leads obviously can’t go into the halls, but are allowed in the parkland.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 twin and 1 single
  • 1 bathroom with shower over bath, and WC
  • Electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, washing machine and Nespresso coffee machine (pods not provided)
  • Travel cot and highchair available
  • Smart TV in lounge
  • Enclosed garden with furniture
  • Off-road parking for 2 cars
  • Shop 2 miles, pub 6 miles, beach 10 miles
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00

Great cottage and layout. The village is very secluded with no amenities. Very peaceful location surrounded by countryside.

The cleanliness wasn't the best there was dust ans cobwebs in most places. But otherwise we had a lovely stay! The cottage was well equipped and had stunning views. Great location and loads of great walks in the village.

A fantastic cottage. Really well equipped, with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Syderstone is in a great position and is the perfect base to explore this part of Norfolk. The garden is secure if you have dogs and there are some excellent circular walks around the village.

We had a lovely week. The house is so nice, clean, cosy, comfy and warm. Plenty of space for a family. Secure garden for kids and pets to play. It has everything you need in the kitchen and lovely touches like the welcome pack and the extra treats were really appreciated after a long drive there.

Syderstone is a good location for exploring North Norfolk but is disadvantaged by having no pub or shop in the village itself. That said, there are plenty of places to eat out and shop within a short distance. The property is comfortable and quiet.
