Only steps from the quayside of Polruan village, this cosy two-bedroom cottage is the ideal destination for friends or families, including canine members, seeking a relaxing base from which to explore the South Cornwall coastline. Hop on the passenger ferry to Fowey for a hike to St Catherine’s Castle before stopping for refreshments in one of the dog-friendly traditional pubs. Wander through the woodlands of the Luxulyan Valley (14 miles) and dip your paws in one of the many babbling brooks along the way.

Enjoying a quiet location just off the quay, your traditional cottage offers comfortable accommodation arranged over three floors. Entering into the first floor, your kitchen/diner is a cosy room with exposed ceiling beams and whitewashed walls. It comes equipped with everything you need to prepare hearty meals to share at the rustic dining table. Designed to take advantage of the fabulous views, your lounge is on the second floor, where you can curl up on one of the comfy sofas with your hound at your feet and watch the boats bob on the river. Through a low doorway off the lounge you will find a cosy twin bedroom nestled in the eaves. Reached via a spiral staircase from the kitchen, the master king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room is on the ground floor. Although there is no outside space at the cottage, the quay is only steps away. Parking is available at the nearby public car parks (charges apply).

Take the lead along the South West Coast Path only moments from the front door for a day walking the rugged coastline. Discover quiet coves for picnics and doggy paddles or stop for refreshments in one of the dog-friendly village pubs along the way. Head inland for long walks along Bodmin Moor (20 miles) taking in the breathtaking scenery. Put your best paw forward at Restormel Castle (12 miles) and explore the castle grounds, or stroll to nearby Lostwithiel to discover this pretty village together.

Enjoyed staying at this cottage. Location was good. Next to 2 good pubs, serving enjoyable food, beer & wine. Very much enjoyed ferry journey to Fowey. Polruan is close to many places you would enjoy visiting. Accommodation was comfortable & furnished to a good standard. Please be aware that the Car Park we used for the week was a 8-10 minutes walkRead more to the the top of Polruan at a cost of 35. The journey up at first was tiring but became my daily exercise. We enjoyed our Holiday, staying here Hide

Great location. Lovely little cottage right by the bustling quay and a short, frequent ferry to Fowey. Cottage had everything we needed. Two local vibe pubs within metres with great ale and classic pub food (ferry to fowey provides better dining options!). Owner very helpful prior to visit and cottage had everything we needed. Lovely coastal walks Read more(Gribbin, Lantic, bus to Polperro walk back, Bodinnick, Polkerris - did them all!) and swimming at Lantic or Readymoney (good for kids). Hide

Great location, easy to drop off and pick up, everything's close including a hope over to Fowey vai the ferry, local shop, bakery and pubs all brilliant and friendly. So nice just to leave the front door and 10 steps later sitting on the quay with a small glass... Polruan is such a lovely spot, you can escape the chaos of Fowey to the tranquillity Read moreof Polruan. Hide

Polruan is a beautiful village but very remote to get to due to the minor roads to get there. The accommodation is as it says is right on the quay and very quirky, it was too odd a layout for us 2 and I'd say not really suitable for 4 Adults. I thought the overall equipment was very basic and we were cold as the heating was inadequate through out.

Pretty little village with excellent amenities. The cottage has everything you need and is central to everything, so if you're after peace and quiet, this might not be the place for you. We spent a very enjoyable week here - thank you!

We absolutely loved this house and had a great holiday. Lot's of lovely walks and we swam at three of the coves in Lantic and Lantivet bays. The shops are brilliant and the Lugger's food was delicious. The ice creams at the Winkle Picker were perfect for eating while watching the world go by in the estuary.
