This is a lovely peaceful cottage in a small but friendly village. The very narrow roads to and from can be a bit of a challenge to less experienced or slightly anxious drivers so it may be helpful to mention that.

Good location with great walks in the immediate vicinity or a short drive away. The cottage is very quiet and peaceful with lovely views from the back windows. Comfortable beds, great water pressure in both bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. The living room furniture is a little tired and parking is quite tight. Fortunately, the cottage next doRead moreor was empty and that meant we were more easily able to manoeuvre in and out of the Bobtail parking space; it would be a lot more difficult if the neighbouring parking space were also occupied. The village pub is very friendly (shout out to Bob the pub dog) but food is a little pricey for basic pub grub. Hide

Well located cottage to see much of the Lake District. Accommodation was cleaned to a good standard. Two modern bathrooms and well maintained. Kitchen was also well laid out. Best feature of the property were the views from the back over open countryside and the forest beyond. Double bedroom was small. Patio area small and not well maintained but wRead moree were staying just at the start of the better weather. The property is in a terrace and although the property to the left was not occupied during our stay the one on the right was and unfortunately the property is not very soundproof and we were aware of noise. Obviously this would depend on who was staying there in terms of noise but something to consider if noise bothers you. Hide

Lovely comfortable and clean cottage in a lovely hamlet . Not too far from Hawkshill which had lovely shops, cafes and a well stocked Co-op. Cottage had everything we needed though garden just a patio though we rarely used as beautiful walks nearby and only needed to drive a short distance to access. Highlights were Grizedale Forest, walk to ConistRead moreon via the tarns and a walk round Grasmere Water. Beware parking at the cottage is quite tricky and local roads are not for the faint hearted. Great location for exploring Windermere and Coniston. 2nd bedroom is small to fit 2 adults. Other than that a very comfortable cottage, our first stay at Bobtail but we would return.

Beautiful cottage and lovely view. Very well equipped and plentiful hot water. A great quiet base for walking in the lakes and the forest too if you don't want to drive. Statterthwaite is very quiet and you can hear only the owls hooting as you go to bed which is lovely.

Bobtail cottage is lovely and we will definitely book here again. Even though we were there on a Bank Holiday weekend, the village was quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed some lovely walks from the door. Had a nice meal in the pub too!

A lovely gem of a cottage. Very quiet, stunning views and well equipped. ( loved the biscuits ) The beds were really comfy and it was really clean. The small outside area was a real sun trap ( we got lucky with the weather) . If you are taking a dog take plenty of towels and something to wash them outside with as there is nowhere to contain the mudRead moredy paws. Lots of fantastic walks nearby. All in all a lovely weekend and we would love to stay again . Hide

A quiet location with great walks on the doorstop through the Grizedale Forest. A local pub with simple food open six days a week is just a short walk away. Close to Esthwaite Water, Windermere and Ambleside. Two beds, two baths and a well equipped kitchen makes it an easy stay for a small family or two couples. Recommended.

This is a lovely base in a beautiful location. The local pub is fantastic. The trails in Grizedale and the search for the various artworks there mean that you don't have to travel far to get the best of this part of the Lake District

A cosy cottage in attractive quiet area. It had all we needed. Parking though was rather tight and only really suitable for one car so might be worth letting customers know as we were a two couple occupation with two cars.
