Had 4 fabulous nights at the gorgeous Barbara cottage. We were really really impressed with, not just the location but the high standard of decor, equipment and soft furnishings. Very tastefully decorated to a very high standard. Lots of lovely touches and definitely want to come back. Excellent location with fabulous local cafe to the right & 2 eRead morexcellent pubs (food was super in both) to the left. Really relieved the cottage comes with its own recessed parking spot which can easily fit 2 cars in (road in threlked is quite tight & in constant use by local buses etc) so having a safe place to park in such a small village was a bonus we weren't really expecting. Added bonus that this cute cottage was dog friendly (no back garden just an open front garden which is fine if you eiher keep pooch on a lead or if they are trained not to wander off). I would say if pushed that this gorgeous cottage is best suited to a couple but at a push a young family of 3 or 4 could comfortably stay, but the steep stairs may be an issue for toddlers - although there is a stair gate at the bottom. Ideal base for keswick and the surrounding area which has so much to offer. Definitely recommend this gorgeous, quirky little cottage. Hide

We have just returned from a lovely week at Barbaras cottage. The cottage is exceptionally clean and very comfortable and welcoming. It is lovely and quiet and we slept very well. The neighbours are lovely and were lovely to chat too if we needed advice on walks. The welcome pack was lovely we especially liked the proper butter.

The cottage was exceptionally clean, cosy, and well equipped. It is small but for 2 people this is perfect for what we needed. The hamper was very generous and a warm welcome. Bed comfy and bathroom spotless. Great location for hikes but still a quiet area. Only thing I would say is the stairs are very steep so be careful when coming down
