Ideally situated in a picturesque, secluded spot near the western fringes of the Lake District, this stylishly updated Georgian property makes a fabulous retreat for larger groups of families and friends. Offering welcoming accommodation for ten guests, this extensive getaway also has ample space for three canine companions. Nestling in a beautiful valley between Loweswater and Crummock Water, this is a fantastic base for dogs and their owners enjoying long, breathtaking walks. With a dramatic mountain backdrop, this elegant property has been beautifully furnished and soothingly decorated to provide a light and peaceful holiday escape.

Entering the house via the imposing front entrance, the light, inviting entrance hall leads to the stylish lounge. With comfortable seating, a smart TV and a wood burner, this is a great space to unwind in. The heart of the house is the elegantly furnished and fully equipped kitchen/diner. With views of the surrounding fells, this is a lovely space to cook and share a memorable celebratory meal. There are five refreshing bedrooms: a ground-floor super-king-size room, while upstairs there are two pretty twin rooms sharing a family shower room, and two en-suite king-size rooms each with a double-ended claw-foot bath and separate shower. Outside, there are large lawns to the front of the house, along with a woodland area with a small stream, providing plenty of space for dogs to explore. To the back, a raised terrace offers a glorious view of Whiteside and makes a wonderful location for outdoor dining.

Loweswater and Crummock Water are both within a couple of miles, with Buttermere (6 miles), Whinlatter Forest Park (7.5 miles) and Ennerdale Water (9 miles) also nearby, offering fantastic walks for your four-legged pals. The dog-friendly towns of Cockermouth (8 miles) and Keswick (12.5 miles) have plenty of great pubs, cafes and restaurants.

A beautiful house in a gorgeous location. We had a great multi-generational family holiday, fabulous pub just down the road, walks from the door, lovely gardens.

A perfect house for a family of 10. Warm, efficient, lots of space to move around and plenty of different spaces to chill out in. All facilities were fantastic. This house is beautiful, set in large gardens with an impressive circular drive. The beautiful kitchen is large and spacious, perfect for entertaining. We had a wonderful stay at Rosewell House. The house was so warm and welcoming and there was plenty of wood supplied for the wood burning stoves. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with all the kitchen gadgets, plates and glasses you would need. The fridge was huge and accommodated the weekly shop for 9 people. Fantastic 5 bedroom 4 bathroom property in a magical location within walking distance of Loweswater, Crummock Water and the Kirkstile Inn. The views from the house and garden are breathtaking. There was no WIFI at the property whatsoever for the entire week of our stay so this couldn't have been as a result of weather conditions as they were changeable throughout the week. The oven was dirty and smelt when heated. The BBQ was also dirty so we didn't use it. The 2 king rooms woukd benefit from superking size beds. We love this house. Its our third stay here and we will definitely come back again. Its a home from home, so well equipped and comfortable. We are locals (who now live in the south) so we love feeling like we are at home when we come back to the Lakes. We really cant recommend it highly enough.

Lovely accommodation, very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely dog friendly garden and grounds. Sun terrace by the kitchen perfect for lazy Lakes breakfast outside. Bedrooms, kitchen and living room very well appointed. Lovely wood burning stove with plentiful supply of wood. Great location to explore local lakes and fells.

Had a fantastic stay in great house and lovely location. Weather was fab ! House very attractive, comfortable, warm and well equipped. Spacious enough for family of 6 adults and 2 children plus baby. The perfect property and location for our 10 guests. Amazing views, 18 minute easy walk to a great pub. Loads of walking options - we decided to focus on Crummock Water and Loweswater so we didnt need to drive. A wonderful weeks holiday

This is an exceptional, beautiful Georgian house, set amidst stunning countryside. The round lawn at the front of the house is surrounded by a very pretty garden indeed with streams running through, all of which can be made secure for dogs, by the large iron gate to the quite lane. We had an absolutely amazing week in Rosewell. The property is in an excellent spot getting up to the tops and the ridges and is incredibly comfortable when you get home after a long day. The kitchen is a great space for cooking for 10 and enjoying stories of our days. The drying facilities; the fires - it was utterly brilliant

We loved our stay at Rosewell House. It easily accommodated our group of nine adults and three dogs, with its huge, airy kitchen and comfortable lounge. If you want to stay in one of the quieter, and (in our opinion) one of the most beautiful parts of the Lakes, the location is hard to beat. We would highly recommend it.
