Gather a group for a beautiful getaway in the Lake District. This charming and traditional cottage would be the perfect location for a large family or a mixed group, and of course, the dogs are invited! You’ll be surrounded by incredible scenery and endless places for outdoorsy adventurers to explore.

As you walk into the cottage, you’ll find a cosy lounge, warmed by an open fire. We know your dogs will love stretching out in front of it, looking longingly at the marshmallows you’ll roast on the flames. There are gorgeous, exposed beams here and in other places throughout the property. When you’re hungry, check out the kitchen/diner, which is well-supplied and has lovely views of the garden. The ground floor is completed by a utility room and a shower room with a WC. Head upstairs for the family bathroom and three bedrooms: a super-king-size with a vaulted ceiling and two twin rooms, equipped with sinks for your convenience. Everyone can enjoy the garden, where your group can play ping-pong on the table and eat meals outside. It’s enclosed with a stone wall and hedges for security.

The Lake District is famous for its great walks and impressive natural beauty. You can hike from your front door or travel further to other wonderful spots. Take salty sea dogs to Haverigg Beach (18.5 miles) for a splash around, then visit the historic Swinside Stone Circle (14.5 miles). Birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts should go to Humphrey Head (8 miles) where you can find nesting peregrines – dogs are welcome, on leads. For any essentials, check out Haverthwaite, which has shops and a dog-friendly pub.

Lovely cosy cottage with amazing views, the way to the cottage from the road is quite tight but you are near to the main road and not that far from a town with bigger shops. Absolutely gorgeous countryside and a easy access to the lakes. With a steam train not far away that will take you to the Boats and Aquarium at lakeside on Windermere. We had aRead more great week. The view from the garden is nice. Kitchen equipment is enough. Space enough with the 3 bedrooms and no disturbance noise from the rooms. For us the spring matras is not giving the best comfort, but this is personally. And yes, small road to the house but this is generally for the roads over there. Narrow road to get there, but once parked a delightful cottage and garden. Some bird feeders would be a wonderful addition as the garden attracts many woodland birds. Ideal location for visiting local attractions

We had a really lovely week at Rose Mount cottage! It is a little out of the way but we used "what three words" and this took us straight there with no issues. Just a warning that the lanes are narrow going up to the cottage. The garden is enclosed which was perfect for our dog and children. We would definitely recommend staying here! Hide

Very difficult to find. Took us a hour. Instructions given were wrong. The roads up to the cottage very narrow indeed. The cottage was clean and well equipped, though some things and places a bit tired. The only complaint was the shower room, what appears to be mould in places, grouting and sealant not good and shower head was filthy. Beware of lowRead more beams and door frames, if like myself a bit on the tall side, ducking is needed. I did well only banged my head once, had some near misses though Hide
