Savour the sunshine and sea air with Fido in the front or back garden at this elegant cottage in Rye. Sleeping three guests, the two-bedroom, East Sussex hideaway is perfect for couples or small families wishing to take a pet to the south coast. Nestled at the heart of Rye, it is just 3 miles from the beach at Winchelsea, where there is a dog exercise area.
Follow furry feet into the cottage and emerge in a welcoming lounge/diner. Light the open fire and let your happy hound stretch out on the carpet after his latest long walk. Find a good film on the Smart TV or flick through a book as he dozes. When Fido starts asking for his dinner, call him into the cottage-style kitchen/diner. Serve his feast then let him pad out into the enclosed courtyard garden to roam freely in the sunshine. When it comes to sitting down to your own meals, choose between the two ground-floor living areas, which each have a table. When everyone is ready for bed, settle Fido downstairs and head up the stairs to either of the double bedrooms, one of which has a slightly smaller bed. The family shower room is also here. Spend as much time as possible out in the gardens during spring and summer stays. Cook on the BBQ and chat into the evening with your pup by your side. A washing machine for rinsing dog towels can be found in an external cupboard. Parking is subject to availability in local pay-and-display car parks.
Amble 2.5 miles together down to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, where four-pawed pals can accompany you along the footpaths. The beautiful, open stretches of Camber Sands, 4.5 miles away, are also dog friendly, with only a few restricted areas between May and September.
