Have fun on the shores of Ullswater when you book this dog-friendly cottage right by the water’s edge. Situated at Pooley Bridge, 6 miles from Penrith. The delightful, two-bedroom retreat sleeps four guests and has a lovely garden that your happy hound will simply adore. Bask with your pup in the sunshine on the enclosed patio or take him down to the long lawn to play fetch.

Make your way inside via the porch, where you can dry damp paws, hang leads and slip off your boots. Call your chum through to the bright, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with you, and open the bi-folding doors on sizzling summer days or light the wood burner during the autumn and winter. Feed hounds and humans over in the well-equipped kitchen area then spend your evenings relaxing together in the lounge space, perhaps with the Smart TV on. Give your pawsome pal a last pat before bed then climb the open-tread, wooden stairs up to the first floor. Here you will find a king-size room and a bunk bedroom with beds large enough for adults as well as children. A family shower room is also here, together with a ladder leading up to a mezzanine snug. Spend as much time as possible outside with your pet. Grill supper on the BBQ, unwind in the summer house or paddle board straight out onto the lake from the banks. There is parking here for one car, subject to availability, with additional spaces 150 metres away.

Take your eager canine companion along a section of the Ullswater Way, which runs for 20 miles all the way around the lake. Board a dog-friendly Ullswater Steamer in Pooley Bridge to take in the magnificent scenery from the water. Disembark at Aira Force to see the famous waterfall.

November 2025. My partner, our dog, and I all had a really fantastic two weeks here. I chatted with Suzanne before we visited, she was really thoughtful and left us everything we might need - extra bedding and towels etc. - and was able to offer recommendations for parking, shopping, etc. We had no trouble parking outside the cottage at this time oRead moref year; the surrounding properties are also holiday lets and weren't always occupied. There is space for two vehicles, but it means one of you will be parked in. The nearest shop sells all the basics. Suzanne very kindly provides some milk, bread, tea, salt & pepper, and a few other things, but you will need to provide your own oil for cooking, condiments, and kitchen roll. Everything works well and the kitchen is well equipped with what you'll need for cooking basic meals. We were comfortable and relaxed. I would definitely recommend this property and would visit again. Hide

The cottage is ideally located as a great base for the Northern Lakes. Pooley Bridge is a lively location with plenty of options for eating out. The garden is delightful with an abundance of seating areas to take in the river views and enjoy the afternoon sun. Our dog loved the garden and the nearby walks along the river. Parking can be frustratingRead more but it's generally possible to get parked on the street at night or use the village car park (9 for 24 hours). The cottage downstairs is small but is comfortable enough for two people. Hide

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. The garden is beautiful and we were able to launch SUPs/Kayak into the river. The cottage was cosy and spotlessly clean; we had a wonderful week. Thank you

Only parking for 1 car - so not off road parking as advertised. Can park in the village or the field which is 8 per night. Garden is not secure for small dogs - large dogs would be ok. Beautiful little cottage. A bit small for 4 adults plus dogs . Really clean and tidy and such a peaceful place overlooking the stream
