This home-away-from-home sits amongst the breathtaking Lake District landscape, in the charming village of Portinscale. Welcoming five guests and one waggy-tailed companion, it’s perfect for adventure-loving families and friends who love exploring and walking. The property is bright and inviting, with plenty of natural light, homely accessories, and little pops of colour in the artwork and soft furnishings.

Leave walking boots in the hallway, before moving through to the cosy lounge which features a large bay window and comfortable seating to sink into after a long fell walk with the hound. Relax in here, watching a film on the Smart TV whilst your furry chum stretches out in front of the wood-burner-effect gas fire. The galley-style country kitchen has everything needed to prepare hearty meals for the group, and you can enjoy informal dining at the breakfast table by the window or in the separate dining room. A small utility area rounds off the ground floor. All three bedrooms are upstairs and benefit from fabulous Lakeland views. A refreshing family bathroom completes the accommodation. Outside, the attractive cottage garden is fully enclosed for your four-pawed pal and has a lawn area where they can burn off steam. You’ll also find a sunny patio area for al fresco dining, and there is storage for outdoor gear in the garage. The property has private parking for one car, with additional on-street parking subject to availability.

A short 0.5-mile walk from the village brings you to Nichol End jetty, where you and the hound can board the Keswick Launch to explore the landscape from the water. The cruise allows you to hop on and off, combining your boat ride with a walk along the footpath that circumnavigates Derwentwater. The vibrant market town of Keswick is just 2 miles away and boasts a fabulous range of paw-friendly eateries, many of which serve delicious local produce.

A lovely house, nicely decorated, cozy, and very well equipped. Theres a nice little garden and lovely view of Skiddaw from the side window of the house. There was a starter set of tea and milk, dishwasher tabs and cloths. The beds are comfortable, too. Full recommendation!
