Situated in the heart of the cheerful village of Cromford, this characterful three-storey cottage has been sympathetically updated to make a delightful holiday home for families and friends discovering a stunning part of Derbyshire. Lying close to the south-eastern corner of the Peak District, the charmingly decorated and beautifully furnished property offers relaxing accommodation for six guests, with plenty of space left over for three canine friends eager to keep you company. Featuring timber beams, wooden floorboards and original furnishings, this traditional cottage is a wonderful base for exploring the region’s magnificent countryside, quaint villages and historic sites.

This traditional cottage has a cosy lounge with wooden beams, ample seating and a TV, making a relaxing spot to unwind in after a great day. Stepping through, the rustic country-style kitchen/diner is beautifully furnished with a central farmhouse table perfect for family meals as your pets wait hopefully by your feet. Upstairs, the first floor has a refreshing bathroom and two bedrooms: a characterful twin with exposed brickwork, and a sweet double with a step leading up to an en-suite WC. The final double bedroom is on the second floor, with a feature fireplace and a desk by the window offering views across the village rooftops. Outside, an alleyway with stone steps leads to a small enclosed garden. On-street parking can be found nearby.

The traditional village of Cromford is home to the famous Cromford Mills (0.5 miles), a popular dog-friendly attraction exploring the area’s rich heritage. The thriving town of Matlock (3 miles) makes a fabulous base for discovering the south-eastern corner of the Peak District. Your pets will be welcome at a variety of local landmarks including The Heights of Abraham, Crich Tramway Village, the Nine Ladies Stone Circle and the grounds at Chatsworth House, all within 10 miles.

Spacious cottage in a great location for exploring the area but old basic furnishings (except the sofa). I suspect it may get very warm in the summer as the windows in some bedrooms have been painted shut. The property was listed as 4 star when we booked but has now been downgraded to 3 star.

Great cottage. Very comfortable beds and sofa. Fully equipped kitchen plenty of things such as plates and glasses of every size and type. Able to park on the road outside most nights.
