Located in the iconic Irsha Street in the historic fishing village of Appledore, this quirky cottage is perfectly placed for couples and small families to uncover the beauty of North Devon with their four-pawed third wheel. Return from the bustling quayside to the tastefully designed cottage with thoughtful interiors and plush linens for added comfort.
Hang up the leash in the entrance hallway before leading the way into the light and bright lounge to unwind; your canine companion will love curling in the sunny spots streaming in from the large picture window. Brimming with rustic character, the dining room is the perfect spot to plan tomorrow’s walkies before stepping up into the adjoining kitchen to tame the growl of hungry tummies. Up the steep cottage stairs, you’ll find the family bathroom and two bedrooms, one double and one super-king-size zip-and-link (can be made up as a twin), which feature original beams. Due to the age of the cottage, certain doorways have limited headroom. Outside, enjoy the distant sounds of the harbour as you dine alfresco in the enclosed courtyard. There’s a payable public car park within 20 metres and on-street parking within 100 metres.
As charming and quaint as they come, the fishing village of Appledore is tucked away on a hillside along the North Devon coastline. From the quayside, jump aboard the seasonal ferry to cross to the sandy stretch of beach at Instow (5 miles away by car) and treat your pup to hours of fun exploring the magnificent dunes (seasonal restrictions apply). Join up with the traffic-free Tarka Trail from Bideford (4 miles), following a disused railway line, to be rewarded with superb coastal and woodland views.
