Let your beloved canine companion accompany you on a couple’s retreat, enjoying cosy evenings in with your feet (and paws!) up after long days filled with walkies. This traditional country cottage is filled to the brim with eclectic appeal, creating an altogether charming holiday home for two guests and one furry friend. The property really is a haven on the edge of Matlock (1.5 miles) and Matlock Bath (2 miles), twin destinations on the fringes of the Peak District National Park. The Derbyshire Hills lie waiting to be explored nearby, littered with endless sticks worth fetching and sights worth seeing.
Shake your tail and step inside, discovering the bright pops of colour and cosy cottage elements, including wooden beams and stable doors. There’s a warming wood burner set on one side of the lounge, and we’ve no doubt you’ll find Rover laying claim to the warmest spot directly in front of the flames. You can settle down on the sofa or armchair, switching the Smart TV on or listening to your pup’s slow, snoozy breaths. Outside, a small seating area allows you to sit outside; however, it is unenclosed, so care should be taken with your pet. Inside and upstairs, a welcoming double bedroom sits beside a bathroom, completing the property. On-street parking is available for one car.
Nestled in the stunning limestone valley, Matlock is a beautiful destination filled with ancient architecture and Derbyshire history. With Fido on their lead, enjoy a sunny afternoon wandering around town, frequenting cafes, pubs, and shops, and wandering up to the spectacular Lumsdale Waterfall (2 miles). Let your four-pawed pal lead the way on a country road walk from Matlock to the village of Bonsall (3 miles), or follow an easy path along the River Derwent, passing The Great Masson Cavern (3 miles) on your way to Matlock Bath.
