Beautiful house in a spectacular location, right next to the A66 great for exploring. The bedrooms all had an ensuite which was fantastic, only 3 showers at a time due to constraints on the water and heating system. The dining room could not fit our party of 14 comfortably, but would be good for smaller groups. This cottage has been converted back from a B&B. The living room is a lovely space but the dining room is a bit of a squeeze if the house is full. The kitchen is small for such a large house and we found it impractical for more than one person at a time to cook. That said, the house is gorgeously decorated and the bedrooms are lovely. Every room haRead moreving an en suite is great for a big family group or groups of friends. The garden is beautiful and peaceful despite being fairly close to the road - we used the hot tub in the evenings and it was quiet. We loved the location and proximity to Keswick and the northern lakes but still easy access to the motorways - great for a group get together. We found the owner responsive and helpful and would return if we get the chance. Hide

There were lots of great things about this rental- Each bedroom has an en-suite and so it felt spacious and comfortable for our extended family of 12 The house was decorated with lovely Christmas decorations as we stayed over Christmas time The kitchen had a great big table for us all to comfortably sit around The projector was a nice touch foRead morer us to watch a film on and we appreciated all the games that are available for guests to use The place was clean and the beds / bedding were comfortable It was in a convenient location for accessing lots of beautiful walks, and had a stunning view of the hills from the garden - We loved having a hot tub! We found the host to be responsive and helpful, she stayed on the property too in a separate building. However, we would have preferred not to have to reach out to her as much as we needed to during the stay- there should be more instructions for guests, cooking equipment, drying racks (crucial for a cold and typically wet Lake District holiday!!), and as a couple of radiators were yet to be connected it was cold at times, a few more logs to compensate would have gone a long way. We did really appreciate the additional oil radiator that the host brought round for us once we raised this. Overall, we would recommend it as a place to stay Hide

This property was not a house but a bed and breakfast which were not expecting. All things that had to be in place for COVID were still in situ which was not appropriate and should not still be there. The cleanliness of the place was not the best with stained bedding left on a bed which was only found when the bedding had to be removed on the day Read moreof departure. Rusty fixtures and fittings in the bathrooms and loose wires found sticking out of the walls in the lounge. Would not recommend this property as the pictures did not portray it properly. "Response from holidaycottages.co,uk - Thank you for your feedback. Were sorry to hear that parts of your stay did not meet expectations. We want to reassure you that the issues you mentioned have now been fully addressed by the owners. All remaining COVID-related stickers have been removed, the bedding has been replaced, the bathroom stand with rust has been replaced, and the wires in the lounge have been fixed. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. Hide
