This stylish apartment is in the charming village of Freshwater, on the west coast of the Isle of Wight. Sleeping two guests and one canine companion, it’s the ideal bolthole for couples looking to rest and recharge amongst beautiful coastal scenery. There are some gorgeous walks to enjoy from the village, along the coast path or following the long-distance Tennyson Trail. Nearby paw-friendly attractions include Yarmouth Castle and The Needles Landmark Attraction (both within 5 miles).
The light and airy, ground-floor apartment has a home-away-from-home vibe, with comfortable furniture, relaxing decor, and nautical-themed accessories and artwork. From the enclosed garden, step through the French doors and into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Here, you’ll find all the equipment needed to rustle up delicious dinners for two, which you can enjoy together at the wooden dining table. Beyond the dining area is a lounge area with plump sofas arranged around a Smart TV. Relax here, after a day of adventure, with your favourite programme on the TV and your furry friend curled at your feet. When it’s time for bed, retire to the tastefully decorated double bedroom, which boasts its own, en-suite shower room. Completing the accommodation is a separate bathroom where you can soak in the bath after a long coastal walk with the woofer. Outside, sip a sundowner at the bistro set on your private patio whilst your four-pawed pal potters around on the enclosed lawn. There is a designated parking space for one car at the property.
Freshwater is a delightful coastal village with a good range of independent shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants. The Isle of Wight’s west coast boasts some truly spectacular beaches and hidden coves, many of which welcome four-legged visitors. Just 1.5 miles away is the fabulous Colwill Bay, with its clear, calm waters and gently sloping sand and shingle beach. This beach welcomes hounds all year, and for the full holiday experience you can hire deck chairs and a beach hut. Alternatively, soak up the history at Farringford House (0.5 miles) – the former home of Alfred, Lord Tennyson – where dogs are welcome in the gardens, woodlands, and parkland.
