This charming family home is in the village of Brockenhurst, in the heart of the New Forest National Park. The rural retreat welcomes six guests and one hound, and is ideal for both families and groups of friends; with two lounge areas and a light-filled conservatory, you and your canine buddy will have ample space to spread out and relax. Enjoy days out from the cottage to Buckler’s Hard, Beaulieu, and the Isle of Wight.
After passing through the gate and along the drive, you’ll reach your New Forest retreat. Inside, leave outdoor attire and dog leads in the hallway, before getting cosy in the snug with a film on the Smart TV and your furry companion stretched out in front of the wood burner. Alternatively, head through to the spacious lounge, where a second wood burner and Smart TV await, meaning that there will be no arguments over what to watch in the evenings! The sleek kitchen/diner is a joy to cook in, with everything needed for a self-catering holiday and a choice of dining areas at the breakfast bar and dining table. Just off the kitchen/diner is a sunny conservatory with rattan seating – the ideal spot to sip a morning coffee and plan your day. This is also a good place for the hound to hang out, away from the hustle and bustle of the main house. Completing the ground floor is an inviting double bedroom and a family bathroom. Upstairs, nestled in the eaves, are the remaining two bedrooms (a twin with a single and small double, and a double room with cot) and a handy shower room. From the conservatory, doors lead to the enclosed garden where you can dine on the patio in summer months, whilst your waggy-tailed chum plays on the grass. The property has private parking for four cars.
The village of Brockenhurst is bursting with charm; you may even spot the odd pony or cow ambling past your front gate. The village has a good range of local shops, as well as pubs, cafes, and restaurants. There are some fabulous walks to enjoy from the village, including along the River Lymington or through Beachern Wood. Further afield, spend the day soaking up the history at the beautifully preserved Buckler’s Hard (7.5 miles) or wander amongst the magnificent floral displays at Exbury Gardens (9 miles).
