Tucked away in the charming village of Sutton-on-the-Forest, this period hideaway is perfect for a romantic retreat – and your faithful four-pawed pals are more than welcome to join you. Attached to a magnificent Grade I-listed stately home, this bijou bolthole offers a unique setting, with access to 50 acres of glorious, shared gardens and parkland for you and your waggy-tailed companions to explore together.

Step inside this gorgeous 17th-century cottage, where the bright and spacious lounge is a lovely spot to relax after a day of adventures with dual-aspect windows, plantation shutters, and colourful seating to sink into. On cooler days, light the open fire and let your pup curl up at your feet while you catch up on your favourite shows on the TV. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking meals for two (and perhaps a treat or two for your canine friend). When night falls, head upstairs to your inviting bedroom, beautifully decorated with panelling and polished wooden floors. Treat yourself to a long soak in the free-standing bath in the en-suite, then sink into the sumptuous bed for a restful night’s sleep. On sunny days, your private courtyard garden is the place to relax with your canine chum by your side. Light the BBQ and soak up the tranquillity. When it’s time to stretch those legs, the estate’s gardens and parkland are yours to enjoy. Private parking for one car is provided.

The historic streets of York are 9 miles away. Wander down The Shambles, explore the city's fascinating history, and enjoy a meal in one of the many dog-friendly cafes and pubs. For adventures in nature, the spectacular Howardian Hills National Landscape (6 miles) offers miles of tail-wagging trails to uncover, while a trip to the grounds of Castle Howard (11 miles) promises grand architecture, beautifully landscaped gardens, and plenty of space for your happy hound to enjoy. Further afield, the picturesque town of Harrogate (25 miles) beckons with its famous Turkish baths.

This house is amazing in every aspect! Its very well appointed, spacious and decorated with love and character! We had a wonderful stay at Loch View. The house is very tastefully and lovingly furnished. It was very clean and had everything you could need; you feel right at home. The owner was very friendly and always available for any questions or concerns. We were delighted with the lovely welcome gifts. We also really enjoyed the private access to the LoRead morech Lochy. The cottage was in an awesome location with regards to being right on the lochside and the view across the water are truly stunning what ever the weather. The cottage itself was very well equipped, the best selection of glasses by far, it was like home from home. Beautiful property with panoramic views. This is an ideal place from which to explore the Western Highlands and the Great Glen. The cottage is wonderfully appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The welcome goodies were very appreciated! Totally beautiful, the most comfortable beds imaginable, my husband said it was the best night's sleep he had ever experienced. The view is perfect and watching the sun move down the loch first thing in the morning is so beautiful.
