Introduce your pet to farm life with a stay at this charming Devon retreat. It’s got fantastic views for the humans and an enclosed garden where energetic dogs can let off steam. You’re just 2 miles from the vibrant market town of South Molton, where you can shop for treats for both humans and hounds at the twice-weekly market and explore independent shops. Sleeping six, this luxurious property is ideal for a family group or nature-loving friends.

Inside, the house has floor-to-ceiling windows framing rolling countryside views. The open-plan kitchen/diner sets you up for sociable meals, with glass balcony doors that open to let in the fresh Devon air. After a day’s adventures, everyone can stretch out in the inviting lounge, complete with a wood burner where your pup will adore warming her fur during the chillier months. There’s also a snug/games room for quieter moments or children’s playtime. When it’s time to turn in, three lovely bedrooms promise a restful night’s sleep: two king-size bedrooms – one of which has en-suite shower room – and a cosy twin. The family bathroom contains a free-standing bath and walk-in shower, while a second bathroom with both bath and shower ensures there’s plenty of space. Outside, the first-floor balcony runs almost the full length of the house – lovely for sipping morning coffees or evening drinks with sweeping rural views. Beneath it, an enclosed patio area provides a safe spot for dogs to roam while you enjoy a BBQ or simply soak up the peace. Ample private parking makes coming and going easy.

When you’re ready to explore, the area is packed with adventures for you and your pet to discover, starting with the majestic Exmoor National Park (6 miles). Pack a picnic and your pet’s ball, and prepare for pretty hikes taking in moorland paths, woodland, rivers and streams. For a delicious local experience, visit Quince Honey Farm (3 miles) to sample golden honey, wander the nectar gardens and explore the nature trails together (dogs welcome).

A stunning cottage away from the road and surrounded with wildlife. Woodpeckers, foxes, rabbits, pheasants and deer. What could be better.

Wow what a stunningly fabulous house, we can't praise it enough, the best property we have ever booked. The layout was excellent with separate areas even though open plan. All the furniture and equipment was high quality and included everything we needed for our stay. The views all around were stunning and it was a pleasure to sit on the balcony whRead moreen the weather permitted. It was a delight to watch not only the sheep, rabbits, field mice and fox but also the resident pheasant along with many other different birds. A few places to visit are The Maritime Museum in Appledore followed by a delicious fish & chips lunch at The Royal George on the seafront. The Exeter Inn in Chittlehamholt is only a 20 minute drive away and has a delicious menu, we have been here many times. The Pannier Market in South Molton sells excellent local produce and Rachel's Tea Room in the town provides delicious meals and lovely traditional teas. It was lovely to meet Lance the owner who was mowing the lawn when we arrived, Lance you have built a fabulous home from the old barn, we loved every bit of it and are already planning a trip back with other friends so will see you then. This place is absolutely fantastic, highly recommend. Very clean, much bigger than expected and everything thought of, all the little extras such as hand soap, cleaning products, lots of kitchen equipment and games provided. The views are spectacular and it is wonderful to see the sheep every morning.

Excellent property in a great location. Really enjoyed our stay in this well equipped, spotless house with great countryside views. Loads of space, super layout and the games room and games table was a real bonus. WiFi was great. Parking super generous. A great base for exploring Devon.

Lance has done a superb job on this cottage. Great amenities and large house to spread out in. We really enjoyed our stay here, in particular sitting out on the balcony in the evening watching the wildlife (and sheep) after a hard day being a tourist.
