Rest and recharge on a relaxing break in the idyllic New Forest village of Brockenhurst. Sleeping five guests and two pups, the spacious retreat makes a great base for families and friends who love getting out and about in nature. The village is the starting point for many scenic walks, including along the picturesque Lymington River. You’ll be perfectly placed to visit some of the New Forest’s top, paw-friendly attractions, such as Buckler’s Hard and Exbury Gardens (both within 10 miles).

After crossing the cattle grid, enter the welcoming, semi-detached holiday home. Inside, leave muddy boots in the hallway, before heading into the inviting kitchen/diner. Here, you’ll find all the equipment you need to cater for the group, and a dining table for sharing mealtimes together after a day of adventure. With cosy underfloor heating, this is a good place to set up the dog beds. In the evenings, unwind in the lounge, where sumptuous seating is set around a Smart TV. On chilly nights fire up the wood burner, or in summer throw open the French doors to let Rover and Fido potter in and out to the garden. The property is stocked with books, games, toys, and DVDs to keep everyone entertained. A handy shower room completes the ground floor. When it’s time for bed, head upstairs to discover three tastefully decorated bedrooms. A family bathroom rounds off the accommodation. Outside, soak up the sunshine in the enclosed garden. There’s a large lawn where the hounds can play, as well as a patio with furniture for al fresco dining in summer months. The property has private parking for three cars.

Brockenhurst is a traditional New Forest village, where ponies and cows are often spotted roaming down the high street! The village has a good range of independent shops, along with paw-friendly pubs and tearooms. Enjoy river walks from the village, or amble down to the local ‘beach’ for a picnic or to let the pups paddle in the water. Exbury Gardens (10 miles) makes a fantastic doggy day out, with waggy-tailed visitors even welcome on the steam train. Alternatively, hop on the ferry at Lymington (5 miles) to spend a day on the Isle of Wight.

My friend and I stayed at LC for a few days. We came by train and both the cottage and Brockenhurst were ideal for us. Small Tesco and Coop round the corner. Plenty of bars, cafes, hotels and restaurants on the doorstep too, although we didnt eat out as we enjoyed the beautifully equipped house so much we ate in the garden for breakfast, lunch and Read moredinner. As everyone has said nothing was too much trouble for the host, Avery, who made the stay super easy with all her advice and information at the property. We walked around each day we stayed and found a different route each time to enjoy just from the front door. Trains are very regular and the bus service was punctual when we used these for a little adventure a bit further afield. Both my friend and I are very nit picky about the cleanliness of places we stay and neither of us could find fault!!! Im also very envious of the new doors in the house Mr Avery is quite the handyman and has done a lovely job in the house prior to it coming onto the self catering market! And yes I did photograph your doors as Im in the process of updating my house and will be using those as a standard to be expected!!! Well done both a fabulous property you have made into an ideal home from home stay for your guests to enjoy. Hide

The address of the house should be Number One, Brockenhurst, great location minutes from the village & amenities. Comfortable, spotlessly clean with plenty of parking with the lovely owner Avery so helpful.

The house was beautifully presented and immaculately clean throughout, both inside and outside. The beds were some of the comfiest Ive slept in with ample additional bedding and towels provided. The owners could not have been more helpful, from details about the village, local restaurants and cafes, maps for walks with the children aswell as a thorRead moreough walk through of the house to show us how everything worked. What a wonderful base to explore the New Forest which is quite literally a stones throw. We would definitely recommend this cottage. Hide

This lovely cottage in the heart of the New Forrest is conveniently situated to access all the attractions and was our home away from home. It is clean and well-furnished and has everything one would need for an enjoyable stay. The beds, in particular, were very comfortable, and we all slept well after a day out exploring. There is a well-kept garRead moreden with outside seating should you wish to unwind after the numerous local walks/cycle routes you can take. There was excellent communication from the cottage owner before and during our stay. They live locally and were available should you require assistance or advice about things to do and places to go. It's round the corner from the local co-op store, bakery, and pharmacy. Some restaurants nearby also - Esme's Tea Rooms serves huge lunch portions and lovely cakes and scones. The railway station is also a short walk away, and there is a cycle rental store next to the station where you can rent cycles for the day (or longer). We had a fantastic time staying here and were delighted to have found this cottage. I highly recommend it, and we will be booking here again during our next visit. Hide
