This coastal retreat is set in an enviable position on the edge of the vibrant Cornish town of St Ives. Sleeping four guests and two pups, the stone cottage makes an excellent couples’ retreat or base for a small family. There are some fantastic, woof-welcoming beaches in the area, and the walking opportunities are excellent thanks to the dramatic South West Coast Path. Enjoy days out with the hounds to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary or Land’s End, both within 20 miles.

The white-washed stone holiday home is arranged across three floors and is decorated in a contemporary style. At the heart of the home is a bright and inviting lounge/diner with floor-to-ceiling windows and a subtle coastal theme. After a day at the beach, unwind in here on one of the plump sofas to watch the Smart TV or read a book. In summer months, open the doors to let a gentle sea breeze flow through the property and allow Rover and Fido to potter in and out to the decked outside space. Adjacent to the lounge/diner is a sleek, galley-style kitchen with all the equipment needed for a self-catering break. A family shower room rounds off the ground floor. On the first floor, you’ll find a super-king-size bedroom and a king-size bedroom, along with a second shower room. The top floor is home to a snug with a Smart TV and a games console – a great place for the children to hang out. Outside, discover an enclosed, decked area arranged across two levels. Spend time out here, sipping a sundowner or sharing family BBQs on a summer’s evening. The property has private parking for one car (Please note due to limited manoeuvrability, parking is not suitable for larger vehicles including 4x4's).

Journey into St Ives (1.5 miles) to wander amongst its cobbled streets, popping into the many independent gift shops, boutiques, and galleries. The town is also home to a fantastic range of eateries, many of which welcome waggy-tailed visitors. Within the town you’ll find two small beaches that allow dogs all year – Bamaluz and Lambeth Walk – or, for a wide, sandy beach to charge around on, journey to Porthkidney Beach, 2 miles away. On a hot day, the hounds will love exploring Tehidy Country Park (12 miles), with its shady walking trails amongst the trees.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 zip-and-link super-king-size (which can be arranged as a twin on request at time of booking) and 1 king-size
  • 2 bathrooms – 1 family shower room with WC, and 1 ground-floor family shower room with WC
  • Electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, air fryer, washing machine and tumble dryer
  • Travel cot and highchair available
  • Electric wood burner-effect fire
  • 2 Smart TVs (lounge and snug), games console in snug
  • Enclosed tiered deck, with outdoor furniture and BBQ
  • Private parking for 1 car (Please note due to limited manoeuvrability, parking is not suitable for larger vehicles including 4x4's).

Nice cosy cottage for our stay in St ives. Well equipped, our kids loved the snug and ps4. Dishwasher and laundry facilities ideal. There's an artificial fire. We expected a log burner from the description and had brought wood especially. We have a large car and struggled to park it in the driveway as the access from the lane was too tight. A lovely property, in great condition with everything in it that is needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Location is quiet and far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but with easy access to all areas for a great holiday to be had. Would definitely consider rebooking again.

Could bee pleasant cottage needs maintance and something doing about the poor ventilation in hot weather. No ventilation in bed room juelet windows do not open and would be dangerous if they did as there is hardly any room around bed and there is no balcony. 2nd bed has very little head room to get around bed? While we were there the garage door diRead mored not work. The lounge kitchen floor was buckled due to expansion and poor fitment, the upstairs shower head rail fell off the wall " screw rusted through" and finally as we left the key box would not work??? Holiday Cottages response - "Thank you for your review following your stay at Knill Cottage West. You were advised the garage door was broken prior to your stay and we worked closely with you to ensure the garden was secure and you had some privacy. The flooring in the lounge has been fixed and you notified us of the shower being broken on your final day and can confirm this has also been fixed. We have also replaced the key safe box at the property with a larger one. Despite the issues you experienced at the property, we hope you enjoyed your stay and visiting St Ives. Hide
