This coastal retreat is set in an enviable position on the edge of the vibrant Cornish town of St Ives. Sleeping four guests and two pups, the stone cottage makes an excellent couples’ retreat or base for a small family. There are some fantastic, woof-welcoming beaches in the area, and the walking opportunities are excellent thanks to the dramatic South West Coast Path. Enjoy days out with the hounds to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary or Land’s End, both within 20 miles.
The white-washed stone holiday home is arranged across three floors and is decorated in a contemporary style. At the heart of the home is a bright and inviting lounge/diner with floor-to-ceiling windows and a subtle coastal theme. After a day at the beach, unwind in here on one of the plump sofas to watch the Smart TV or read a book. In summer months, open the doors to let a gentle sea breeze flow through the property and allow Rover and Fido to potter in and out to the decked outside space. Adjacent to the lounge/diner is a sleek, galley-style kitchen with all the equipment needed for a self-catering break. A family shower room rounds off the ground floor. On the first floor, you’ll find a super-king-size bedroom and a king-size bedroom, along with a second shower room. The top floor is home to a snug with a Smart TV and a games console – a great place for the children to hang out. Outside, discover an enclosed, decked area arranged across two levels. Spend time out here, sipping a sundowner or sharing family BBQs on a summer’s evening. The property has private parking for one car (Please note due to limited manoeuvrability, parking is not suitable for larger vehicles including 4x4's).
Journey into St Ives (1.5 miles) to wander amongst its cobbled streets, popping into the many independent gift shops, boutiques, and galleries. The town is also home to a fantastic range of eateries, many of which welcome waggy-tailed visitors. Within the town you’ll find two small beaches that allow dogs all year – Bamaluz and Lambeth Walk – or, for a wide, sandy beach to charge around on, journey to Porthkidney Beach, 2 miles away. On a hot day, the hounds will love exploring Tehidy Country Park (12 miles), with its shady walking trails amongst the trees.
