Bring your canine companions and let them run for miles on the golden beaches of North Cornwall. This fabulous cottage, just a mile from Sandymouth Bay, is ideal for couples or small families, and boasts a cosy wood burner as well as an enclosed patio where pups can play safely while you BBQ in the sunshine.
Follow your excited hounds into the welcoming two-storey lodge. The ground floor is open plan, so humans and canines alike can relax together, perhaps lighting the wood burner and streaming a film on the Smart TV. The compact kitchen includes everything necessary for preparing hearty holiday meals – including a microwave and a dishwasher. Dine at the table for four, perhaps opening the French doors to the patio. When you’ve said goodnight to your pets, head upstairs to find a bunk bedroom, perfect for children, and a double bedroom that has lovely sea views, both with Smart TVs for those lazy mornings in bed. The outside space, two steps down from the dining area, is ideal for furry friends and little ones, a safe spot for them to play while you enjoy a meal at the picnic table.
Walk the mile to the National Trust’s Sandymouth Bay to find an unrestricted beach your mutts will adore, especially at low tide when there’s a huge expanse of sand. Popular with families, and lifeguarded during high season, it’s also great for surfing. In Bude, 4.5 miles, you’ll find a choice of shops and places to eat that welcome dogs, and yet more gorgeous beaches. At Tamar Lakes (5 miles) there are waterside trails to follow, and little ones will love the Milky Way Adventure Park (13.5 miles), where well-behaved dogs on a short lead are allowed (additional charge). There’s private parking for one car.
