This cosy Scottish retreat is set on a friendly working farm in the green, green Dumfries and Galloway – ideal for countryside-loving pet parents. It’s surrounded by gorgeous scenery and just 1 mile from the village of Crossmichael, where you’ll find a handy shop. With one double bedroom, it’s wonderful for a solo traveller or couple plus two canine guests.
Upon arrival, step inside to stylish open-plan living space with a cheerful light grey and yellow colour scheme. The lounge area is ideal for unwinding after a long walk, with a Smart TV and a bioethanol burner to keep you and your pets toasty on chilly nights. You’ll have everything you need for meal prep in the kitchen, and there’s a sleek shower room with a WC on this level, too. Upstairs, a cosy double bedroom provides a peaceful retreat for a restful night’s sleep. Outside, soak up those soul-soothing views on the wooden deck while your dog makes the most of the fresh air. Create doggie-tempting smells on the BBQ, with an extra sausage each for your hungry pals. If you’ve been out walking, a dip in the lazy-spa will be especially welcome.
The farm is surrounded by excellent walking routes through breathtaking scenery. Nearby, a lively local atmosphere awaits in Castle Douglas (4.5 miles), where you can pick up local produce at the farmers’ market if you’re there on the third Sunday of the month. Water-loving dogs and humans will be keen to check out the pretty Loch Ken, accessible from Parton (3 miles). Scenic lakeside walks, paddleboarding, wild swimming (doggie paddle obligatory) and fishing are all on offer close by.
