This idyllic cottage in the quaint town of Dulverton makes the perfect romantic bolthole for couples and their favourite waggy-tailed companion. Set on the southern edge of Exmoor National Park, the period property is perfectly placed for exploring some of the region’s top beauty spots, such as Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge, and Wimbleball Lake (all within 10 miles). After a day of adventure with the hound, snuggle up in front of the roaring wood burner or enjoy a sundowner out on the patio.
The cosy cottage is full of personality, with a myriad of original features such as beamed ceilings, exposed stonework, and flagstone flooring. A collection of traditional furniture and accessories add to the cottage’s charm. The inviting lounge/diner has two sumptuous armchairs positioned in front of a Smart TV, as well as a sweet window seat where you can curl up with a good book, and a dining table for sharing romantic dinners together. Spend time relaxing in here, whilst Rover dozes next to the warming wood burner. Just off the lounge/diner is a separate kitchen with everything needed for a self-catering break. Up the cottage style stairs, an attractive double bedroom awaits, with a vaulted ceiling and feature stone wall. A refreshing shower room completes the accommodation. Please note, the property has characterful low beams and sloping ceilings, so you may experience restricted head height in some areas. Outside, the enclosed patio garden is the ideal spot to enjoy a morning coffee whilst your canine buddy stretches their legs. The cottage is accessed via a narrow lane where the private parking for one car can be found.
Dulverton, on the banks of the River Barle, is a quintessential English market town with pretty cottages, picturesque streets, and historic buildings. Potter amongst its charming collection of independent shops and galleries, before dining in one of the paw-friendly pubs or tearooms. Many walks branch away from Dulverton, including to the ancient clapper bridge at Tarr Steps (5 miles). This is a delightful spot for the pup on a hot day, with shady wooded areas and plenty of opportunities to cool off in the river. For a day at the seaside, the woof-welcoming coastal town of Minehead is just 17 miles away.
